VirtualAssistants.com At Home Workers Beware! I am a professional online virtual assistant. I work for a couple of legitimate firms. I ran across VirtualAssistants.com through a blog. I go to their site and right up top they are trying to recruit workers. This is not a common practice. Most legit sites focus on getting paying customers - not paying "employees". When I clicked on the registration button I had to read this huge sales pitch about how they are NOT a scam. Me thinketh thou protest too much. Low and behold at the end of the pitch, I find out that they want to charge me $9.99/mo or $49.99/yr to start working for them. NO LEGIT COMPANY ASKS FOR MONEY FROM THEIR EMPLOYEES. Stay away from these guys if you are a interested in working from home for a legitimate website. I just had to get the word out. Internet

I am a professional Online Virtual Administrative Assistant.  I currently work for a couple of legitimate online services.  In an effort to increase my income I ran across VirtualAssistants.com on a work from home blog.  The reason I have to write this report is because this company is primarily focused on finding paying employees as opposed to paying customers.  Right on the top of their home page, you are primarily directed to register to become an assistant – not to become a client.

Once I clicked on the link I had to read this page long pitch about how they are not a scam.  (Me thinketh though protests too much.)  They also claim to not charge fees to their employees.  When it was time to actually register they asked me for my credit card information to pay $9.99 per month or $49.99 a year to be a virtual assistant with them.

The reason I am writing this is because of their deception.  Feel free to hustle the desperate into paying if that is your thing, but don’t lie about it.  If you are interested in working from home as a virtual assistant there are plenty of legitimate places to do so and none of them ask you for a penny.  They make their money the old fashioned way…  They earn it.

I remember when they started their website! She/he started about the same time I did, and I actually used the site way back in the day and I'm gettring ready to use it again.  I don't want to take the time to find out if i'm getting scammed, time is money and if 9 bucks says I don't have to do all that work I'm all for it.

The rule of thumb is if an "employer" is asking you to pay them to work it's a scam...This is a job board, they do all the work to make sure you're not getting scammed.  Elance charges, Upwork charges, they all charge.  Why pick on virtualassistants.com?  Just curious

Thank you virutalassistants.com   I just want to say that you got your .com name right before I did. I'm virtualassistants1.com

Hi,

I'm a current and past user of VirtualAssistants.com and I have to tell you that I have found plenty of positions through this site. It's not a ripoff! The employees themselves DO NOT charge for their open position. The fee that a person pays is for using the board. There's nothing wrong with that. The people that run this board are taking time to weed out the scams and I'm glad that they do, since I've been scammed plenty of times; one time I was scammed by a lady that lived right down the street from me! They take the time to do all of the research that I'd have to do, if I were looking for a VA position myself.

So I recommend this board.

This is a VIRTUAL JOB BOARD

I am the owner of VirtualAssistants.com and we are a Virtual Job Board, we are not the employer. So the jobs do not charge a fee, we require a fee for using our service as we find and prescreen jobs for our members. We have been helping people since 1999 with legitimate virtual jobs. The company was started n February of 1999 to prevent people from getting scammed as I got scammed myself from applying to a fake job on the internet. So I started a private job board where only jobs that have been prescreened could be posted. We research these companies to make sure they are legitimate.  WE have an A+ rating and take our reesponsibilty to our members very seriously. You are confusing paying for a job with paying to use a service. I repeat the jobs do not charge a fee. Please feel free to contact me.
