Rebate Program fraud; 2 Motorolla V60 rebate ripoff scams .....
My wife and I bought 2 Motorola V60 phones from Amazon with 1 yr agreement with Voicestream/T Mobile with a plan for a minimum of 29.99/month for each phone last July 28, 2002 for 250 dollars each, but with appropriate rebates (150 dollar rebate from amazon and 100 dollar rebate from voicestream) that would make the phones actually free after the mail-in-rebates.
We submitted all the rebate forms and mailed it via certified mail. We received the card (certified mail card) that says voicestream received the rebates on Sept. 4, 2002 with a signature of a person named Tammy Livertson or Sivertson.
After 6 weeks, we already received our 300 dollar rebate from Amazon. We checked with voicestream but they had us call 2 weeks later, then another week, then another till it was already November. They finally told us to re-submit everything, I think around Nov 17-19th and I faxed it 2x on Nov 20. I called them to make sure they received the fax but they said that theres no way to do this which is ridiculous. They told us to CALL AFTER 4 WEEKS to check if its in their system.
We called after 4 weeks and my name wasn't in the system. They made us check after 1 week then another and we already complained to T mobile customer service but they ofcourse kept on directing us to their rebate dept., and so we complained again that we just wanted to make sure our rebate forms have been received but to no avail.....Its already Jan 18, 2003, 4 months from when we first submitted our rebates. They are actually making us re-submit again (DOESN'T THIS MAKE YOUR BLOOD BOIL!!!!!!???).
They said we don't have a choice, so we say its actually a rip off! They owe us 200 dollars (100 dollars/phone). If this was a merely 30-40 dollar rebate , we would rather not undergo this hassle but 200 is alot. We have never experienced this kind of a rebate rip-off with anyone. The most that we have waited was probably 10 weeks but this is crazy.

your beef is with Young America

More than likely your beef is with Young America INC. I knew a lot of people that used to work for them, and heard many horror stories.
They are a rebate fufillment company, Voicestram probably subcontracted to them do do the rebate. In fact when you go to the 'rebate department' you probably are talking to a Young America employee, not Voicestream.
