I contacted Clayton in regards to one of the dogs he had listed on his website, "Opus". I requested pedigree and other pertenant information and he then called me to speak about "qualifying" for one of his imports. He then faxed us a contract and called incessantly about whether we had received it or not. We did and he then instructed us to forward $1000 thru our/his paypal account by noon that day so we would be assured a shipping date.

We faithfully sent approved the transaction and he forwarded to us more Mpegs and photos of the dog. He also said that he had shipping details and we must wire transfer the remaining $4800.00 to him before close of the day. We scrambled to do that as well. I know, shame on me...

We were then told by Clayton that we could pick up the dog either Weds or Thursday at Dulles airport, so we began the 3000 mile drive from our California home. We combined another business reason at this time to go to Virginia hence picking Opus up at Dulles.

Two days before our scheduled arrival in Virginia, we had an extreme difficulty in contacting ANYONE at his number. Finally we did reach someone, and he said the dog shipment was delayed for another week. He said the shipper had dog trials to attend and had no way of getting the dog to the airport.

Then we heard nothing.........he now had $5800.00 in cash from us and we never got anything other than his voice mail. We were already in transit. All this just went south yesterday and we are very upset. I did speak to Jonathan who was VERY aggressive and insulting and informed us that they had disqualified us from buying one of their dogs and their check was being sent to us. I even tried to negotiate with them and said that since we are now in Lexington, KY then could send the dog there, but when I said that I now questioned their integtiy and wanted the CASH back, they firmly do not respond nor do they answer their phone.

Thye are not simply scam or con artists, they are theives. They are converting our hard earned dollars and we MUST stop them! I am contacting the Milwaukee District Attorneys office as well as Sheriffs office tomorrow. Yes, I know buyer beware, yes I know there was a chance I would have this happen, but who's to know??? I can assure you though that I am NOT done with them.
