Douglas Harrington (aka "Von Eisenhart Rottweilers", is now advertising under the name "Rocky Mountain Rottweilers').  He has changed the name, to allow him to continue the fraudulent  practice of finding excuses to keep $500.00 deposits. Douglas Harrington continues to falsely advertise dogs he does not possess, sell puppies that do not exist, and unethically finds excuses to keep $500.00 deposits. 

Even if a contract states "Non-refundable deposits", that would be acceptable if the seller performs and the buyer does not.  It does not give a seller permission to keep your deposit if the litter fails and/or transfer it to another litter, (or as I believe in my case, there were NO puppies) unless otherwise stated and agreed upon.

I am embarrassed to admit that I too fell for this scam, and lost $500.00 to Douglas Harrington.  My story is basically the same as many. I fell in love with the dogs advertised on the elaborate website and sent my $500.00 deposit.  After multiple failed requests and attempts, Douglas Harrington never did return a signed, executed contract.  After weeks of excuses, multiple stories that did not add up, stories from others that sounded familiar, and ultimately no evidence of a puppy, I realized I too had just lost $500.00.  According to stories shared by others, this activity by Douglas Harrington has been going on for years!

"Unethical breeders can make a fortune in non-refundable deposits. They could be advertizing the best pedigree in the world and there's no telling how many deposits they can collect for a litter that may not even exist...Collecting only 20 non-refundable deposits will equal $10,000 ..per litter! ...It's quite an incentive to cheat, and if you did receive your puppy, well, where did it really come from? The newspaper, puppy mill, a lesser litter? There's no way to verify the bloodlines unless you have DNA on file. Beware!!"

But wait, that's not the end of the story.  The females as advertised by Douglas Harrington as "Miss KK" and "Olivia" are pictures that have been Photoshopped from a kennel in Serbia called Von Hause Milsped Kennel.  Yes...Dogs in SERBIA, not in the kennel of Douglas Harrington! Quoting one forum report from "Rottweilers online.com" an online community devoted to the love, appreciation and care of Rottweilers states; "Wow...It is Brook!! web page Von Hause Milsped Kennel. That is the exact same photo Eisenhart is calling Miss KK on his females page. You can even see the little bottom left corner not quite cropped off.  Now look at Olivias von Eisenhart's Photo. That is a different photo also of Brook with the tail cut off and the background photoshopped in with grass. Both photos have a little white spot on the chest. A clear and deliberate attempt to deceive. I believe that might be called fraud!!"

A Dam listed on Douglas Harrington's website earlier referred to as "Una", now appears to be named "Hauna".  Next month most likely she will be advertised under another name.  This website advertiser on the photos; "Dandi Web Solutions" his advertised "Design and Web Management" at 513.259.5798 reflects fraudulent advertising. Photos and the names of Harrington's breeding stock are not consistent; the same Dam's information changes from month to month.

Words of advice:

(1) Refer to the online site "Rottweilers Online".  Key in "Douglas Harrington", "Von Eisenhart Rottweilers" (recently now changed to "Rocky Mountain Rottweilers').  I encourage anyone that may consider sending their money to Douglas Harrington, to read the many posts of those that have sent a $500.00 deposit to Harrington, and never received a puppy.

(2) Another tip is to consider using PayPal rather than sending a check to someone you don't know. This could be helpful in the event a complaint were to arise.

(3) Document and save everything....

(4) If you have sent your deposit, and not received a puppy from Douglas Harrington, you are encouraged to report this activity to the following:

• You can also file a complaint on fraud report: Once you submit it, you cannot change it. So be honest and try to factually report your grievances. As much as we'd like to sometimes, refrain from going off on a tangent. You will get a more positive acknowledgement stating only the facts.

The more people who file with the Colo AG, BBB and other sources the more apt to get their attention and investigate this, ultimately saving others from being taken advantage of.

Another note;  Douglas Harrington is very proud to advertise that his daughter, Dr. Anne Harrington is a veterinarian.  She practices at Denver Eastlake Veterinary Clinic.  Harrington claims she is the vet who takes care of all his dog's healthcare checks and vaccinations.  She has not been available for phone calls when attempting to reach her as well.  No surprise!

Legally binding contract of puppy purchase clearly stating non refundable deposit was signed. Puppy identification is not in question.
