I have been trying for a little over a year now to close my account with Vonage Phone service. The first time that I tried to close my account they told me that I had to pay a fee of 150.00 and I asked them why. They said that I had to buy out my time. When I explained to them that when i received the service I was never told that and the rep that was on the phone told me that she was sorry to hear that, but I still had to pay. I then had to keep moving my money from one account to the next in order to keep them from charging me. Again, about a couple of weeks ago before I could move my money they charged my account 96.00 and then I rebutted it with my bank and my bank gave me the money back.

Well I just received a letter in teh mail from my bank telling me that they were going to take the money back because vonage sent them some documents stating that i was using the phone. One it was impossibe for me to use teh phone because I no longer had internet and two I was no longer at the address that the phone was set up for. Well, because Vonage kept charging me, the voice mail would pick up anytime someone tried to call. So Vonage used that to send to my bank to show that I still had service and now they are saying that if i only pay 39.50 they would disconnet the service. Why don't they use the money that the charged me in the beginning and I have not used the service to disconnect the service. Vonage is a rip off. They do not explain all of these hidden fees to you when you first establish the service. Now again I am out of 96.00. I have had to go on to the website and put in a prepay card number in order for them to not charge my bank anymore and now they keep sending me emails telling me that I need to make a payment in order for them to continue the service. When are they going to get the hint?
