Monday I went golfing with another adult and a junior player. While I have golfed all over the country, I have never been treated as terribly as I was at this golf course. We had a tee time for 3:45 in the afternoon and when we checked in 1/2 hour early they asked if we would like 2 carts. When we hesitated the man at the counter told us we could just put my son's bag on the cart with ours. Great!

We continued our round of golf having a wonderful day even thought we had to wait about 10+ minutes everytime we wanted to take a shot because the holes were so backed up.

Around the 14th hole a young man came out and told us we had to remove the 3rd bag from the cart. I advised him that we were told that it was okay. He was very beligerent toward me and I advised I would like to speak to his supervisor when I went back in. Three holes later he was back again to tell us that the guy in the proshop never said that and we must remove the bag.

At this point he offered to bring a cart out to us "if it is such a big problem" I told him he was the one making it a big problem. We removed the bag and continue to play, although at this point none of us were having a good time.

When we finished our round and went to speak with the supervisor on duty we were surprised to see he was the one that told us it was okay. He denied that he said it. I guess at this point I was a little disrespectful to him and told him to get a backbone and just admit it.

We advised him that we weren't trying to pull anything over on them and had put the 3 bags on the cart in front of the club house and 2 other employees. He informed us that they were cart personnel and didn't know the policies. Gee, I would think that CART personnel would know cart policies!

Anyway we will never return there to play and want to make sure that anyone looking to have a good relaxing day at the course is aware of the lack of respect these people showed us, the terrible management of tee times, and the lack of integrity they have.

I am a member at the course and feel that if you talk to the owner or one of his kids you will probably not feel the way you feel about Wachusett. I do know that Wachusett does not allow three bags on a cart as do most courses in the area. I do know the staff in that golf shop are great people and I have always been treated well as have friends of mine who are not members who play at Wachusett on a regular basis. They must be doing something right because it is the busiest course in Worcester County. The Marrone Family have ran the golf course since 1939 and have recently purchased Kettle Brook Golf Club in Paxton. They are great people and I just feel this has been a case of miscommunication or something. I would suggest contacting Nick Marrone the Director of Golf and tell him about your report that you filed and explain what happened and tell him who you spoke with inside the golf shop that day and I know he would def. look into the situation and probably compensate you for your troubles. The reason why I am writing this is that I really didn't like seeing Wachusett being misrepresented to the public.
