My home contents were recently moved (3/07) by Wade Odell. During the move, three (3) boxes of valuable sports memorabilia never made it to my new home (only 1/2 mile away). My collection was commented on during the move by one of the movers. The replacement value for these items appoximates $15,000.00!!!

Wade Odell not only hindered and delayed filing of a claim, but when a claim was finally made, they denied that these items ever existed since they were not packed by Wade Odell. As a result, they denied the claim in full! This is despite my having receipts for every one of the items.

Geez, since nearly all my contents were not packed by Wade Odell, I guess my move never really happened, and the nearly $4000 for the move that I paid, was to transport air! Now, i am pursuing legal action against them. EVERYONE BEWARE!!!

Settlement reached with customer

Although there was no proof that the moving crew was involved , as a gesture of good faith, a settlement was offered to and accepted by the customer.

I agree with you entirely. This was an oversight on my part, given that these valuables were not "breakable." Call me idealistic to think that people are usually good natured and do not STEAL from customers, especially vulnerable ones during a move.

Moving companies ALWAYS recommend that you move valuables via other means. Since you were only moving 1/2 mile away, why would you even *think* of putting $15,000 worth of memorabilia in a moving truck? It seems like common sense to move these items yourself in your own vehicle so that they never leave your sight.
