Walgreens Balance Financial Card Balance Financial The crooks stole $500 from my 17 year old daughter. Salt Lake City Nationwide

     My daughter was appearing in a musical out of town and needed cash.  This was her money earned waitressing.  I was nervous about sending $500 cash, so I put her money on a Walgreens prepaid MasterCard for her to use.  I told them my daughter's age and exactly what the card was for.  This was in June 2015.

      When she called to activate the card, they took her information and then informed her that since she was under 18, she could not use the card for cash or have it in her name, etc.  It would only be usable as a gift card.  So I asked them to put it in my name.  They said it was too late her information was on the card and it couldn't be changed.  I tried going back to Walgreens with the receipt but they couldn't help me either.  All I could do is send in a bunch of information and wait for months on a refund.

      Driving home from Walgreens I had the stuff all together in an envelope- the card, receipt etc. and my tire blew out.  Long story short, the envelope was either lost or stolen by the tow truck driver or one of the mechanics.  I had my large dog with me and I was busy wrangling him, so I wasn't able to constantly focus on the envelope.

     So I call Balance Financial and they look up the card and report it missing.  They tell me several things to send them to get a refund.  I send everything and they tell me it will take 8 weeks to process.  Well, time goes by and I heard nothing.  We call back and now they say there is no record of her account and we must have the receipt to show proof of purchase. They are shady crooks looking for loopholes to take people's money.  I'm sure we're not the only people going through this kind of thing.  Everytime we call we get a different hoop to jump but none of them ever lead to a refund of my daughter's money.
