Bought a battery at WalMart in September 2017- fully warrantied for a year (or so they said when i bought it!)

Died March 15th.

Took to another Auto Parts store, who tested it and said it was 40% and wouldn't hold a charge.. at least not for long..

Went over to the nearest Walmart, which had a AutoCenter. They said they couldn't do anything without testing and then trying to charge it for a couple of hours.

Recharged it, said it was good and I took it back to my car--

Died 10 miles down the road. Left the car where it expired.

In the morning, brought it to my local Walmart (where i had bought another battery, for another car, but not this specific one!)

They said (despite it being fully labeled, with a 9/2017 sticker on it) that they couldn't scan it, and I probably needed to take it to the Walmart I bought it at - because sometimes that store has to deal with it-- which was 25 miles away! (imagine if it was 500 miles away.....)

At lunch... I dutifully drove over to the THIRD (3rd) WalMart, the one where it was originally purchased when my car died last September..

After waiting in line there... they told me they couldn't do anything without the receipt....

**This is a WALMART exclusive EVERSTART Battery, with a completely readable, scannable code, AND the original Date Sticker.....***

So now i've got to make a FOURTH TRIP to Walmart to replace a frikin' dead Battery...

NO AutoParts store makes this a difficult thing....  Dead Battery--- "here's your replacement, have a great day!"

WalMarts Warranty/Replacment promises are J-U-N-K.

If they ever give me a replacment/ or working battery of any kind... I just hope my car hasn't been towed, after FOUR trips to WalMart to replace it!

Learned my lesson the hard way--- AVOID cheap batteries and Auto Parts from WalMart-

All this crappola, just to save $10-20- what an idiot i feel like!

A bad battery will not stop the car

AUTHOR: Ransom - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, March 23, 2018

There is more to this story.

If you once get the car started you can run it with no battery at all unless the alternator is not working.  Your battery going dead would not stop the car.

If your alternator or voltage regulator is shot, the car will die as soon as the battery dies.  Maybe you have an alternator problem.
