Walmart Inc., Mall Stores Department Adams M. Anthony (Director of Operations) Received $1995 check and offer to be a "Consumer Service Evaluator" part-time and on-going Bentonville Arkansas

I received a mailing today that included a letter and a significantly sized check, supposedly from Walmart Inc.  The top of the letter lists Walmart Inc. but also below that "Mall Stores Department."  No phone or fax numbers appear anywhere, and on the envelope, I noticed the stamp is from Spain, as is the inked postal stamping made six days earlier than the date of the letter - which is odd in and of itself.

I'm always suspicious when unexpected checks show up from entities or folks I don't know or have never communicated with, so I did a search online and found a couple of very similar reports to this. SO, I'm sharing here. It seems this has been going on since 2012 or 2013 and now, here it is 2017 and still going on.

Can't quite understand why anyone would go so so much trouble but apparently some folks are stealing an awful lot of money via this route or they wouldn't continue. I have no intention of trying to cash the check or follow their online directions, which would probably include a request that I enter all kinds of personal information. This is how identity theft germinates and grows until it is out of control.

WARNING:  Always check these things out before taking any action on them. Walmart's headquarters IS located pretty much at the address this outfit printed on their letter, but with a slight difference. The real Walmart Headquarters is at 702 SW 8th St., not simply "702 8th St."  The devil is in in the details!
