I took my car into Walmart of Starke Florida for it's first oil change. I have always done a initial oil change earlier than recommended; I go by the old standard for a new engine, and change first at 1000 to 3000 miles. This time it was at 2600 miles. I was immediatedly ridiculed for wanting my oil changed so soon, and because of the make and model of my car. I let it go, because I did not want to do it myself this time, and because I had someplace I had to be and wanted my car to be good for my wife while I was gone. I watched the oil "tech" "work" on my car from the waiting area. He was puzzled immediately and seemed to be lost as to how to change the oil, as well as how to even open and close the door; it has a smart key. This worried me to see him fumbling and setting off the alarm on the car. So I watched him really close, but he ducked around and pulled something in the way to block part of my view of him working, but I could still see most of what he was doing. He claims to have checked the tires, but he could not have because he never took the caps off from what I could see. I saw him take the oil filter out and throw it away, but never saw him drain the oil. I figured it was partly blocked. I was wrong on that assumption. I saw him pour a part of a quart of synthetic oil in the engine but nothing more, I figured I must have missed it. Then when the car was "done" I took it home 20 miles, it seemed to run funny skipping a bit. So, once I got home I opened the hood and checked the oil level to find it was well over full. It also look like it had been bubbling and frothy. I had to run so I left it as is. When I got back from my trip, I decided to drain the oil and pour back in the right amount, since this engin can be damged by being over full on oil; it's in the owners manual for this type of engine. I had the time and no longer trusting Walmart of Starke Florida I drained the oil. It looked really old, like a couple thousand miles old, I would wager 2600 miles or so old; minus the 3/4 quart he overfilled it with. So I had to run with another vehicle of mine to get oil from Oreilly as they were the only ones who carry this Mobil 1 in the viscosity it takes beside Walmart. I filled it up to where it supposed to be and I had to clean out the intake as it had oil sucked up into it from being over full. I complain to Walmart and so far nothing has been done. They do not believe me. I would not take my time like this to complain unless it was not real. I know it is a business for them and writing about their business will possibly hurt their busines. I thought about not writing this, but people have to know, do not trust your vehicle to the "techs" at Walmart, many of them do not care, and treat your car like it is a joke, or their personal toy. I got unllucky and had a poor "tech" who does not care. Are you really willing to trust your car to someone who could not care less? I thought these "techs" cared to at least do the job completely and not to try and cheat by taking shortcuts.

I am never taking any of my vehicle to Walmart for anything again. If I have to have car service, I will go to the mechanics at the car shop I used to work at. If I can, from now on all maintenance that I will not take to the dealership, I will do myself, as I know what I am doing, and then I know it will be done completely and correctly.

DO NOT TRUST WALMART AUTO, all they want is your money they do not care if they do it wrong or damage anything.

What kind of an idiot takes a brand new car to a Wal-mart?  Congratulations, you have now voided your warranty and probably damaged the engine.  Running any car with too much oil will mess up the bearings due to the oil pump sucking up foam, and it sounds like you also fouled up the sensors and stuff in the intake.  A new car should be serviced either at the dealership or at a reputable independent mechanic.  Also, there is absolutely no need to change synthetic oil sooner than 15,000 miles or so, particularly in a brand-new car.  At the very least, it will do far less damage than a Wal-mart tire monkey.
