My friend is expecting a baby, and registered with Walmart. I went on-line to view her registry, and selected an item to purchase as a gift for her baby shower. I kept waiting to get to a screen where I would be asked where I wanted this item shipped. I finally got to the last screen, and it said I would be asked to verify the shipping address before the order was submitted. I hit continue, and bam, Thank you for your order.
I frantically went to tracking, and there was my friends address as the shipping address. I tried to call, but never got to a human being. So I sent an e-mail stating I wanted the item shipped to me. I traded e-mails with 3 different people, and was finally told that items purchased from a registry would only be sent to the registrant.
I have never purchased anything on-line and been told I have no choice where it will be shipped to. (I'm paying for it, therefore you ship it wherever I tell you to). After getting nowhere with customer service, I tried to cancel the order, and was informed that I could not cancel the order once it had been submitted. But, once I received the item, I could return it. I WON'T RECEIVE IT, because they refused to ship it to me. I will NEVER use Walmart.com again.

On 9-6-2007 Jim Press, Toyota's former CEO, announced his resignation with Toyota after being with Toyota corporation for 37 years. He went over to Chrysler as a sales executive and Chrysler went BANKRUPT not too long after he joined them. And believe it or not, about 15 months after 'SLUDGE POEM 2' was posted about Toyota's President in Japan, Katsuaki Watanabe, he was REMOVED from his position and replaced by Akio Toyoda.

Karl, I really don't care if my employer takes out a life insurance policy on me. As long as he's paying the premiums, why SHOULD I care? I went to that Wal Mart video... they guy Dan on you tube is a babbling idiot whose arguments are difficult to follow because he's so obnoxious. He should also issue a retraction about the Deborah Shank issue because Wal Mart DID NOT pursue her family for the $470,000 in settlement funds.
In any event, these "google this, google that" postings of yours are TRULY irrelevent to most of the posts in which I find them. Like I said elsewhere, why not start your own blog and quit annoying the rest of us?

You can 'Google' this too- WALMART WANTS YOU DEAD, and watch it on the web. It seems as though- Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, & many other banks are doing what Walmart was doing, right?

This is hardly a Ripoff. The only complaint you have is that they ship a Registry Item to the person the item is for. You have several options, you can go into the store yourself, have it shipped to the store, or sent to the recipient. Could they make it to where you can ship it to someone else..yes. Does them not doing that make it a Ripoff..NO. By the way I could not see anywhere where it even gave you a suggestion that you could change the address.
From your update it does appear you wanted to bring the gift for the "show", or there is something else going on where you no longer want to give it to her(based on the return comment). The recipient will know that you bought the item. You state that they won't notify the recipient. Well don't you think that they would figure it out when they receive the package(s)?
If you want to be sure bring a card(which if you made this much stink about the gift I am sure you were going to do) to the shower and let her know. Really, it's no big deal. If you or the mother-to-be think it is then you may want to re-think your priorities.
By the way in case you were wondering, I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs so this is not defiantly not coming from a "fan" of Wal-Mart.

Karl, as usual your idiotic rants have nothing to do with the OP's issue. She makes a very valid complaint and I empathize for her. Why don't you start your OWN website so you can rant all you want? Then, those of us who peruse ROR for RELEVENT information don't have to sort through your garbage.

Make sure to 'Google' this- WALMARTS DEAD PEASANT SUIT AGAINST INSURERS ESCAPES THE GRAVE, and read that article too. Believe it or not, many of the large publicly held banks in the USA are doing the same thing! 'Google' this- BANK EXECUTIVES PROFITING ON THE DEATH OF EMPLOYEES, and read that article. Then 'Google' this- BANK OF AMERICA COMPLAINTS SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES, and read that one too!

Of course I wanted to walk into the shower with it, it was my gift for the shower. Just like everybody else walked in with their gift. It's not about showing off, it's about showing up with a gift. And apparently, you don't know how registries work. They don't notify the registrant, the item is simply marked as fulfilled on the registry. And the fact that I am paying for it, absolutely means I should decide where it is shipped.

Karl, don't believe anything on Google. The Obama Deception was made by a guy who is best known for going into the woods and getting drunk. This garbage is worse and you're a fool for believing any of it.
To the OP, why do you want it shipped to you? If this is part of a baby registry, the store is doing you a favor by delivering to the end user. The only reason you want it shipped to you is so you can have this ability to show off to everyone else when you walk into the shower with it. Oh, and just because you're paying for it doesn't mean you get to tell anyone where you want it to be shipped. What if Walmart ships it to you, tells the registrant you bought the item (they do that - you knew that, right?) and then you decide not to give the gift? The registrant now doesn't get the gift she expected and needed because of your desire to keep it. You probably think that's a horrible thing to say. On the other hand, it happens.
This is not about you. This is about the person you bought the gift for.....
