Walmart Supercenter #1158 Ripoff discriminatory rude Adamsville Alabama

I worked at the walmart supercenter in Adamsville, Alabama. I was hired on for temporary/seasonal help. I was hired on as "part time" after that. They tried to send me to another location that was over an hour away from my house (even though I stated in my application that I COULD NOT travel due to having small children). I was told the only way I could keep my job was to transfer like they told me to. After telling them I couldn't because, first of all, I had small children to care for, I also had a car that would not make it all the way out there. The manager I talked to seemed to be sympathetic to my wishes and told me she would find me another position in the store. I was found a cashier position. I never called in, I was always on time, and I stayed late whenever they asked me to. There were numerous occasions where I didn't leave the store until 12 or 1 am and had to be right back up there at 6 or 7. Again....I never complained. Then the day came that I had to call in. My brother had to go to the er, and therefore, I couldn't work cause I had to watch my 4 yr old sister. The manager was so hateful to me that he made me cry. My husband saw that I was crying about how the manager was treating me, so he called and asked the manager why he thought he had to be so hateful to me, and explained to him that I was upset enough worrying about my brother. The manager then informed him that he would just "take me off the schedule". He never told me himself that I was fired, instead, they treated me with meanness. Would not return my calls when I would call to find out when to come in, they would tell me "not today". Nobody would talk to me about how I was treated. Before this incident, when I was informed that I had been hired on as a regular employee of walmart, I was put down (and signed a paper) stating that I was only a Part time employee. Yet I was working 40+ hours a week with NO benefits and NO raise like I was promised. The manager that was so hateful to me found out that I am his kin by marriage, and it just so happens that he hates with a passion the family that I married into. I still believe that he fired me, not because I called in ONE day, but, because of who my family is.
