---- Christmas 2008 I writ a check at Wal-Mart in chandler, AZ. The cashier has a problem with the check approval system. Cashier runs the check twice and then tells us that she will need to hold on to the check. This should have been our warning because Wal-Mart always handed our check back. Not this time.
Bank statement arrives in the mail. After looking the statement over we notice that the Wal-Mart check was put thru the bank twice. I call the Wells Fargo bank to ask why the check was sent thru twice. The person didn't know, but they went ahead and credited our account the amount. I asked what we need to do and was told that we didn't need to do anything.
Telecheck calls and want to know why we had cancelled our check. We told them that the person at Wal-Mart processed the check twice and we had broth it to the banks attention and they had reversed the amount for the extra amount. Telecheck send nasty note demanding money for the check, we don't reply. Telecheck then calls us all hours of the day and night, when I finely talk to the SR he asks about the check fund that we had reversed from Wells Fargo. I told the SR that the SP at Walmart had ran the check twice. He must have look up some records because he said that was right and that we needed to fax that information to them. I told him that the Wells Fargo bank said that it was taken care of and that we didn't need to do anything. Tele check calls back this time it is a SR with a heavy accent, they demand that we send them our account numbers along with a statement why we weren't going to pay the amount. I told them I wouldn't send them anything since I couldn't confirm who they were. I asked if they had a wed site where I could file a complaint about this madder, I was told that their was not anything available, but if I would like I could call another Number on Monday.
Call on Monday and has put on hold for who knows when. Hung-up needed to go to work.
We are still being harassed by telecheck.
Finely we call Wells Fargo and tell them what has transpired over the weeks. They tell us that WF will send us a letter to send to Telecheck. We recive the letter in the mail that we are to send to Telecheck. The letter states that we were victims of fraud and that the amount had been refunded to our account because of this Wal-Mart problem. Silly us we send the letter to Telecheck from FW. Telechecks Calls us when they receive the letter and want us to send them a Police report on the check that Wal-Mart ran twice. We told them we didn't file a police report because the only crime was Wal-Mart's fault and we had received our money back. So now we are at the point that we are going to close our account at WF that we have had since before WF took over the Norwest Bank back in the eighties. I am also staying away from Wal-Mart as much as I can, eve though they are very close to our house.
Since all of this that has happened our checks are now kept instead of being handed back to us and I have had checks that stores would not accept because of Telecheck
This whole ordeal has made me determined to go cash only and forgo using checks and credit cards.
Sorry that this is so short but I could make a book on all the grief that these Companies have caused.

Dear Walnomore chandler arizona.
why would telecheck call you for a cancelled check if the bank paid it?
you got the extra credit back from bank, so does this mean that the bank did not pay anything on this check? when walmart runs it through twice the bank pays it once and credits the next.and telecheck well not come after you if the bank payed at all. sure the bank gave you credit for running it twice but did they pay one? so that it could clear through telecheck so the error is the bank because telecheck does not make errors people do.

Walmart did not try to charge you twice
It was just a honest mistake
If you do only cash only that is a mistake itself
Because if someone robs you
You will never see that cash ever again
With Checks And Plastic You Can Recover What was used because they have a record of what person used it for

What was the RipOff from Wells Fargo? They had 2 items presented to them and they paid them. How are they supposed to know that it was an error at the time? When you notified them of the error they refunded the money. When you asked for a letter of the error they sent you one.

Wells Fargo has a bunch of issues. I am probably one of the last people who would defend Wells Fargo. However, the problem you have is with Telechecks and Walmart. Telechecks is the people who are not allowing stores from accepting your checks and Walmart is the one who ran the check twice. Wells Fargo gets hundreds of thousands of checks per hour. There is no way for them to see each check to make sure it was not a duplicate.
