I have had a so called "extended warranty" in effect with this company for five years. I finally had to make a claim because the starter in my 2000 Toyota 4Runner had to be replaced.
The day I placed the claim was an endless series of phone calls between my  mechanic, the so called claim's department at this company, and myself. Warranty Acceptance advised they would supply the starter to my mechanic, which they did. The mechanic warned me the auto supply shop who supplied the starter had a bad reputation for quality, and my repair garage did not use this supplier for any parts. Then, the fun began.
My repair shop estimated it would take 1.8 hours to diagnose and replace the starter. Warranty Acceptance in their infinite wisdom decided 0.8 hrs was all the time which would be necessary. However, they could not recommend any repair shop which would replace the starter in 0.8 hrs. It was totally arbitrary; like a customer going into an electronics retailer and saying "I've decided I'm only going to pay $200.00 for that 40" TV, because that's what I feel it is worth". It turned out I would have to pay the extra one hour of labor out of my pocket. When I picked up my auto, I paid the entire labor charge, $200.00, out of my pocket, and the company requested I fax the repair shop invoice and proof I paid the invoice, to them. This was done on November 16, 2009.
By Wednesday, December 9, 2009 I had not received one single penny from this fraud of a company. I faxed them a rather unpleasant letter that day, and received a call from a woman from Warranty Acceptance on Thursday, December 10 2009, advising "the check was in the mail".

I live in Tallahassee Fl, which is no more than two days mailing time from Mobile, AL. As of today, Saturday, December 12, 2009, I still have not received one single penny.

This company engages in very unethical business practices, and I encourage anyone and everyone from steering a very wide path around this so called "warranty company".
