I've read a few of the "rip off" reports about Warranty Gold and I too was a victim of the fraud this despicable organization apparently perpetrated upon thousands of people.

My cost for this worthless contract was $1,500 purchased in December 2002. I see many other victims paid more.

I'm not going to give anyone the sob story that I'm broke or desperate, and I fully understand what occurs when an organization files for bankruptcy.

I contracted with Warranty Gold however and not NWIG. Warranty Gold remains solvent and continues to sell extended warranties to this day. The morons actually attempted to sell me one not knowing I already had one. This is clearly fraud and I'm shocked with the publicity surrounding this issue, that no governmental or regulatory agency has stepped in.

I reported this issue to the Austin office of the BBB when I first discovered the situation in June. They have taken no action though I do note that Warranty Gold's information has been removed from the BBB site and the site now indicates the report on this company is being updated.

I also, more recently reported this to the Austin, TX District Attorney's office which also apparently handles consumer complaints. however it clearly indicates that they can take no action on behalf of an individual. Perhaps if they are flooded with complaints, something may finally be done.

Warranty Gold files for bankrupcty protection from US!!

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 17, 2003

They filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Nov 11, 2003 and the judge ordered ALL contracts purchased prior to 6/6/03 be TERMINATED as of Nov 14, 2003.

This means there's no hope for any future repairs. But, you can file for reimbursement for repairs prior to 11/14/03.

Please visit www.warrantygoldsux.com
for information on this bankruptcy. I have downloaded some the motions and other legal docs filed on behalf of WG. Also, there are tons of links to officials in TX where you can file complaints against them.

personally, I paid 2403.00 for my useless contract.
Good luck..

It only gets better!! Warranty Gold continues publicly take the stance that this is not their responsibility.

AUTHOR: Stan - (U.S.A.)

I filed a claim with American Express to see if I could get back (any poart) of what I had paid to Warranty Gold.

AMEX immediately followed up with Warranty Gold, and Warranty Gold's response was to send AMEX a copy of the section of the contract addressing their refund policy circled.

Not sure if they were implying that they had sent a refund or that I was not entitled to one. Is this shady business practices or what? I've now had to start the process over, escalating it to the AMEX Fraud Division. I will update this entry when I get a response.

My (and likely many others') complaints to the BBB have finally made it to Warranty Gold's rating with the Better Business Bureau. They have "voluntary withdrawn their membership due to their inability to satisfactorily dispose of claims!!"

Note: if the link spans more than one line, you may have to cut and paste the link into your browser.

I have also filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and Texas Attorney General's office. Have not received responses from either.

Warranty Gold continues publicly take the stance that this is not their responsibility. Not sure about anyone else, but I DID NOT CONTRACT WITH NWIG. I CONTRACTED WITH WARRANTY GOLD, AND IT IS WG's FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TO EITHER PROVIDE THE SERVICES PAID, FOR OR ISSUE REFUNDS!

To add insult to injury, I just yesterday received another email solicitation from Warranty Gold trying to sell me a new contract!!

I cannot understand for the life of me how they are getting away with it.
