In June, I went to my neices graduation, I booked a motel through expedia. When I arrived, the motel was not as pictured. I asked the manager, what was needed to cancel. He said call expedia, he wouldn't charge me( my daughter was having an asthma attack from the room). I contacted Expedia. They cancelled.

I got home and Washington Mutual had 2 separate charges for 2 separate amounts out of my account. I contacted them, they said they would investigate it. I was sent an affidavit. My husband went to the branch and faxed it to the corportate acct.

Now fast forward to August, the credit was reversed out of my account. When I contacted them, I was told they closed the complaint. I asked them why, they said they did not have enough proof to not reverse the charges.

Now I sent them a copy of my itenerary. Names of the people who also had to change motels, my expedia reference number, all from the local branch. When they reversed the charges, I contacted them the next day Aug 19, 2008. I was told to fax them a letter with the information. It would take about 4 days but they would get ahold of me.

I called expedia again, sent the fax, then on the 25th I called them all day 10-4:30. I was hung up on 6 times after being on hold for 35+ minutes a time. This happened on my phone, the cell phone and my husband cell phone, different providers. Then today, I get told they closed my complaint the day I called, the 19th and there is nothing I can do about it.

I asked how a company could just use my card and they would give them my money. They said it wasn't really fraud as I had cancelled. I said for one charge not two. I was told I should calm down, the money was gone.
