I am writing because I have been given the run around in repairing my only vehicle after an accident that was not my fault. It has been ten days since the accident, they refuse to return my calls, I have kept a log of the dates and times I have called to reach someone. Not even a courtesy call to explain the process. They sent out an adjuster on a Saturday unanounced, he then claims the vehicle is declared a total loss. I sent the police report and the adjusters report. Finally got a call today, and can be given no ETA as to the resolve of this case. I could care less about their work load, and whether or not it was a three day weekend.

I have been paying for years to Wawanesa for insurance assuming the assurance that this type of situation would be handled timely and with constant communication. It's not rocket science. You crash your car, they fix it. The payments I have made, far exceeds the value of my vehicle, but when it is time for services to be rendered, I am out of any help from Wawanesa. Insurance companies pay zero dollars annually to the tax board, with all that expendable cash, they send lobbyists to pay off our local California officials to pass laws that we are forced to get auto insurance so that a person who suffers loss, can be made whole again. So as a victim tax paying customer who is out of a vehicle by no fault of his own, can get the run around and yet Wawanesa expects monthly timely payment for NO services.

Insurance companies like Wawanesa, are just like the banks and these shady companies that tell you they can help you can save your house for a fee, yet they know very well that they are extorting money from actual working tax payers and have no intention of helping do what you pay them to do.

Want to get screwed by your insurance company? Choose Wawanesa the extortion specialists. Good luck with your claim!

I was a claims adjuster and have been on the other end of having to deal with Wawanesa and they are by far the WORST insurance company I had to deal with. My girlfriend has them and is now having a similar experience as you. One thing you can do besides firing them is file something called a DOI (Dept. of Insurance) complaint. This looks really bad on the adjuster and the company as a whole. When enough DOI complaints are filed the DOI will audit them which is a nightmare and fine them for claims that weren't handled correctly under DOI regulations. I'm filing 3 on behalf of my girlfriend. If you want to file one I can help you out as best I can. Good luck.
