The I drive started squeeling and started to go up but stopped and then the door came down and put the door stopper between the top of the garage door and the top of the door opening. Could not get it to work up or down. Therefore the door was stuck open about 16 inches..
the release did nothing for this and I was forced to disconnect the power and remove the Wayne Dalton i drive off of the mounting...
Called wayne dalton, and they said they did not make the opener, and only distributed it..I said your manual, with your name and your lifetime warranty said to contact no one but them for problems.
Wayme dalton was bought in Dec 2008 by OVERHEAD DOOR COPR, Texas, a division of Sanwa Holdings tokyo, Phone # 800-926-3667and the President is Sennis Stone... call him and let him know your feelings.
Wayne Dalton is now headquarted in Pensicols, FL, Willis Mullen is the Chairman and CEO Phone # 850-474-9890.. should also be contacted.
They should offer to replace the units with a unit of your choice.. Genie or other,, liftmaster etc..at no cost to you.
Both Willis and Stone should be named in class action suit..
