We Care Chiropractic Scam Downingtown Pennsylvania

In August I went to this chiropractor for help because I was having awful back pain in my lower hip area. The chiropractor (Dr. Fraumeni) listed a special in a local newspaper where he would do an evaluation and consultation that included x-rays, for the low price of $29.

WHen I went to see Dr. F, I had to get the usual "spheel" that he obviously gives everyone. He had me look into a mirror so he could show me how uneven my shoulders and hips were. He had me lie down and then pressed hard on my back asking, "does that hurt?" DUH, of course it hurts, you are pushing hard on my spine!
When Dr. F was done, he told me that he could work with me but I had to come back next week with my husband. I told him, "why my husband?" He said, "that is how we do business and there are many things to discuss and that my husband had to be part of the decision making." I told him that my husband does not need to be at the consultation and that I was capable of making my own decisions. He seemed to not want to help me, so I said to him, "you mean to tell me that if I do not bring my husband with me to my next appointment that you will not take me as a patient?" He said, "well, not necessarily.... but that is just how we do business."
He then proceeded to ignore my arguments and said, "how about next Monday at 8 a.m." I told him I work full-time and that I can only come at night. He said, "ok...how about 3 p.m." I told him b/c I worked that I needed an appointment after 5 p.m. He said, "ok, next Monday at 6 p.m. - but you HAVE to bring your husband."

I told him I would think about it, paid the $29 and left. When I think about it, I should not have paid - I didn't get the x-rays that were promised in the ad.
I got into my car and cried. I was in pain and needed (and wanted) help. My husband and I are professionals, have advanced college degrees, and make very good money. I am not an idiot and am perfectly capable of making my own decisions when it comes to healthcare. I also know that this guy was trying to scam me into bringing my husband so that he could get ropped into chiropractor care.

This guy is a total fraud. There are some chiropractors who want to set up an entire "plan" so they can squeeze as much money out of you as possible. There are other chiropractors who seriously want to help you and are not concerned about how much money they can get from your insurance. THis is the kind of chiropractor Dr. F is, a liar and scam.

I have since found a wonderful place and am very happy with the care I receive. I have reported "We Care" to the BBB. I did see on the BBB web site that there was a report in the past on this place.

Any intelligent person would know the scam this guy is trying to play and I hope more people make complaints. Beware of this moran!
