Over two years ago tropical storm Debbie came upon us and dumped three days of rain on tampa bay. Unfortunately, water came through the windows and destroyed my dining room and living area. The floors, drywall all needed to be ripped out. our insurance company dame out and determined it was the large front window was leaking. We called a number of window companies and went with Weathertite. They came in, very neat, curtiois and knowlegable. We accepted the deal and had them install new windows. Days later, rain came and water still came into the home. We just replaced the windows? Where is this coming from. Called a roofer, he did some repairs to the roof. Still water coming in. Some times it would rain, we would get nothing, others water still would come in. We were stumped. I called weathertite and had them recheck the windows. They assured me no problem with the downstairs windows but the upstairs windows, a total of four should be replaced. We replaced them. Weeks later, water again, like nothing was ever fixed! Again, called weathertite came out, checked the windows and again said nope, your windows are fine, it's your roof. Recalled the roofer, he did some other repairs. Still water. We then had a french drain system installed, still water coming in. We called the gutter guy in to install gutters....you guessed it, water still coming in! I was ready to nose dive off a bridge. My house has been and is a construction zone for almost 2 years. Next, stucco guy came into play. Had stucco around window and sill replaced again, rain coming in. Called a new roofer who has a brain. He figured it out along with the stucco guy with a flashlight just where the water was coming from. The large window that we replaced first! On your hands and knees, kneeling down you could see a huge gap between the window and the outside! Ewwww! Wow, and omg?!!!seriously, this was the first project done. Thank God for Rich the roofer. He was just about to install a new roof because we figured that was it...everything else had been done. Richard heard our story and helped us! He put his own business interest aside and said, do not fix your roof yet. This is not coming from your roof. I will replace your roof still but after the window people fix what they need to fix. Unfortunately, yes,,,weathertite came to our home, said that it was a very bad install and that they no longer employee the guy who installed it. They took out the window, fixed the flashing(I hope) and kindly told my husband that they would NOT give him a work order with the work done. My husband asked why? Replied that he had to cover his own a*s first and speak to his boss. I called his boss and was told I would recieve it via email. Tom, you never emailed my invoice. I want it. I'm going to need it. Mike, the CFO, spoke to my husband and wants our concern to go through their insurance since it was their negligence. Ummm, yes. Pulled out my receipt for the windows upstairs I want reimbursed because all this work didnt need to be done! funny, the windows upstairs are not up,to code and did not use the hurricane force windows that needed to be installed. The work order states no permit pulled! Really Weathertite?! You are one shady company. I will take this all the way. I am going to call Mike tomorrow and have a nice discussion as to whats the deal with the upstairs windows and I want answers. Needless to say, this company cost me thousands of unnecessary dollars spent when the entire time it was their product that was the problem. I think its fair for being reimbursed  but unfair I had to live my life with all this stress! Unbelievable. Do not go with this company...pay the extra and go to Pella. Tom actually had the nerve to say to me" what took you so long to find the leak"? My response, me? What took you so long a*s!..find another company, trust me!

I originally posted this message when I was dealing with the manager. After I spoke with Mike, the owner, he did make it right. We are both happy. i wish I spoke to Mike first then this wouldn't be here. Overall, they do have a good company, they made a mistake on my watch, but the other windows are Fine. I was very happy with window tight until my house still was not fixed. They fixed the job and I have nothing negative to say now. They are a very good company, just one bad employee who no longer works their. So thank you Mike at window tight, for making things right.
