Web bank took over two credit card accounts of mine about two years ago. O.K., no problems (20% int). I paid my accounts regularly, never late, and always more than the minimum.
I asked several times for either a reduction in the interest rate(s), or a creditline increase. I had 1 for $3125, and the other for $1750. Each time I was told by the C.S.A. that "they could not reduce the rate, and that increases were subject to a periodic review". These actions are beyond the reach of the C.S. Dept. In two + years I never received a review.
I paid off my first two cards this summer and have not gharged anything on them since. I just don't like paying 20% interest. I was about to purchase some christmas gifts, when out of the blue, I received letters telling me my accounts had been closed. No reason given.
I called their C.S. Dept. and had to request an explaination that would take 30 days to process. I'll NEVER do business with this company again!

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Simple Suggestion
AUTHOR: Robert - (United States of America)

You probably have not read your credit card agreement and that is why you do not understand the reason behind your card being shut off. This is a common mistake that a lot of people make. Almost all credit card companies have a policy listed in the consumer agreement that states "if the consumer discontinues use of said card for a period greater-than or equal to x number of days then the card in question will be suspended." I believe my master card says 180 days.
Either way if you still had good credit with the bank and requested your card be reinstated I assure you that they would do so. The reason behind why they suspend/shut off inactive cards is that if you are not spending any money then they are not making any money and it costs them money to maintain an account. Therefore they consider it un-profitable to keep the account active until you decide to start spending money again.
I hope this helps clear things up for you.
