Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus software is targeting Freecorder by Applian for removal.  I have had Freecorder for many years and have never had any reason to believe it is malware or any type of bad software.  I downloaded it to record the Rush Limbaugh show.

After having severe computer problems with a real threat and real malware called dnswalters.exe and dns downloader, I purchased Webroot SecureAnywhere from Walmart.  After providing the keycode on Webroot's website and downloading the program, a scan was performed that took a couple of minutes.  This scan came up with something that was not recognizable and noted it as a severe threat that should be removed.

Then after continuing with the removal, I realized my freecorder was gone and all of my Rush Limbaugh downloads.  It is showing on the control panel where uninstall/install is, but there is no file or any icon on the desk top.  It appears that this scan commenced by Webroot was intended to remove freecorder.  That is all it did. It did nothing else.

Yes, Webroot SecureAnywhere is dangerous because it defrauds the user into believing security software is being downloaded for the safety of the user, when infact it literally steals what belongs to the user. I enjoyed listening to my downloads.  They belonged to me.  The Freecorder I had was a good item.  There is no reason that any software company would believe that the freecorder on my computer was malware or presented any type of threat.

All of the free downloads I have used from websites like PC Mag and Cnet and others providing free, and free trial downloads have never attacked freecorder.  The security software products I have purchased seperately have never attacked freecorder.

I am firmly convinced, after attempting to contact Webroot via phone and email, that they are conducting a criminal scam to target and remove Applian's Freecorder from individual computers.

Webroot's advertising and claims it makes to induce people to believe Webroot's security products provide safety and security, are false, deceptive, and misleading. This is not a small matter, nor one of those irritable things that happen with "security software" downloads.  This is criminal theft and I don't care what anyone says about it.  This is my accusation based on my experience.

I have filed a complaint with Colorado's Attorney General and will be doing the same on Better Business Bureau.  I contacted Walmart immediately to notify them of this product and received an immediate refund.  They were fine.  But how in the devil will I ever get my freecorder back with its files?  Yes - my Rush Limbaugh downloads are worth a million dollars! And they were mine.
