This has been a nightmare! I purchased the $2.95 Government Grants CD on February 21, 2009, and NEVER saw or read anything about additional "clubs" I was joining. I'm very careful about ordering anything online so when the bills for $7.95, $9.95, and $34.95 started coming in March, 2009, I was blindsided. It's taken me months to get these monkeys off my back and I haven't succeeded yet! One company I called, a man answered in what sounded like a mall, was very unprofessional, said he'd get right back to me, and left me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up!

I have been attempting to cancel this account with websaveclub.com since March 21, 2009. They charged me $34.95 in March, then April and May. I disputed each charge and FINALLY managed to find the company's phone number in May to get the account cancelled. They don't make it very easy to contact them. I talked with "Anna" and she supposedly cancelled my account. This was on May 28, 2009. I also cancelled my credit card that I used with this transaction and was reissued a new card with a new number. I do not use that card online.

Now I was checking my credit card statement for July, 2009, and websaveclub.com has AGAIN charged my account $34.95! This was over a MONTH after I had been given a new card! How did these people get my new credit card number??

The phone number I had for websaveclub before (1-866-616-1118) has a disconnect "busy" signal. Their website is "down for maintenance." I called my credit card and had a new card reissued, as well as another dispute filed. I managed to find another number on this Ripoff Reports site and spoke with a representative there named "Tiffany." Tiffany told me there was NO charge of $34.95 on my account. I saw it with my own eyes, the credit card rep. saw it there as well. I wasn't making it up. But this woman told me there was NO charge. Then she transferred me to her "supervisor," named Tico. It took 10 minutes of hold time to get him on the phone. Tico told me there was NO charge on my account, that the thing had been cancelled effective May 28, 2009, and he couldn't understand how I'd been charged. He wanted to know how the transaction name showed up on the credit card statement. Huh? Then I had to verify the last 4 numbers on my credit card that was used this past July. I was VERY uncomfortable giving this to these people. Then I was instructed to send something to the Fax Resolution Dept. regarding this charge. It was all seeming like a runaround. I flat-out refuse to deal with these people any longer.

I have filed a complaint with the FTC and with our Attorney General's office, as well as my credit card company. I did this back in June and received a terse reply from iWorks General Manager, Ryan Riddle, that I had somehow forged the Internet document, that I had gone through 3 pages and each of those pages had the information on them,  but they were being gracious enough to give me refunds of my remaining membership fees. Since iWorks is obviously the parent company of all of these companies, I don't know why I had to contact again and again to get them to cancel my account and stop charging my cards. They don't make it easy to cancel, and they certainly aren't being very reputable business people if they are finding people's credit card numbers and charging them after the account has been cancelled.

And WHY was my new credit card charged AGAIN when I was assured this was the last I would hear from them? How did they get that number?

What a hassle. And the Government Grants CD was a joke. No special information you couldn't have found elsewhere. DON'T DO BUSINESS with these people--EVER. They will make your credit life hell.

Resolution Offer

AUTHOR: Customer Service Administrator - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Marie,

First and foremost I would like to offer an apology for the difficulties this customer has experienced. Our company represents the Grant CD program she ordered, however for a few months now, we have no longer provided customer service for Web Savers Club. We strive diligently to provide the highest level of customer service to all of our customers, but unfortunately mistakes do happen and phone problems do arise, but we do our best to make sure that these types of issues are quickly addressed and resolved.

I apologize for any misunderstanding or confusion when you contacted
Customer Service and spoke with our representative Tico. At that time, he was a new representative for our company and apparently failed to refer the customer to Web Savers Club, who had begun providing their own customer service. We apologize for this oversight - the correct customer service number for Web Savers Club is: *1-888-808-8582.*

I am very glad to read that you were able to reach our customer Service for the Grant CD and resolve your concerns.

When ordering the Grant CD there are no commitments with the free
product however there is a bonus free trial period to membership
websites that accompanies the free CD and we do our best to disclose
this as it is stated several times throughout the ordering process - on the sales page, the order page, the confirmation page and the thank you email, it is then also explained in the first paragraph of the Terms and Conditions of the offer. We offer the trial periods to give our clients a chance to use the services and see the value of them for themselves before they are billed for them. The trial periods are free for 7-30 days from the order date depending on which bonuses apply and we would not have charged you had you called customer service and canceled during the trial period as it is not our desire to bill clients who do not want the membership after the free trial offer ends.

The following is the first paragraph of the Terms and Conditions of the offer (the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy links can be found on every page of the sales ad):

Bonus Material Terms and Termination.
By purchasing this product, you agree to adhere to the termination
agreement as outlined on the order page, confirmation of order page, and confirmation email, which is that you, the buyer, are not entitled to a refund of the upfront cost of any shipping and handling that may or may not have been charged to you for delivery of said product. Furthermore, any free trials that may or may not be offered with this product are only free during the said allotted time of the free trial period as outlined within the product sales page, confirmation of order page, and confirmation email. If you have not cancelled the free bonus within the free trial period (if offered on product purchasing), you are agreeing to purchase the bonus material and/or service at a monthly reoccurring cost. This can be cancelled by calling the customer service number provided in the confirmation email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and stating your desire to cancel said bonus material. However, in order to not be charged any future reoccurring cost, please give ample time (2 business days) to be cancelled out of any reoccurring billing system before the next scheduled charge to your account (this does not apply during any trial period). Not canceling trial programs constitutes authorization, by you, the buyer, for any charges (as outlined) for the associated bonus service until your request to cancel has been received by our customer service staff. By not canceling the bonus program during the trial period or prior to two days before a scheduled billing cycle, you agree that any reoccurring charges billed to you will be non-refundable.

As you can see the Terms direct the customer to the sales page,
confirmation of order page and the confirmation email.

The information that is offered through the Grant Member Site is more extensive than what other companies sell in coaching programs that cost a thousand dollars or more, so we feel that we are offering our clients the best value in the industry at a reasonable monthly rate of $39.95. Ordering our Grants CD also includes two fast action bonuses. The first fast action bonus is
for Search Market Members site which has a 14 day free trial. This
member's website where we offer one on one live chat assistance and it teaches users how to make money using Google's AdWords and AdSense
Programs. Customers can use these programs to create Google AdWord-based Advertisements and place ads on Google searches using Google AdWords.

They can do this either for their own sites or they can use Google
AdSense to funnel traffic through their sites to other sites and get
paid for the traffic they generate. After the trial period, it is a
reduced monthly membership fee of $7.95 because you are already a member of another of our programs. The second fast action bonus is a 21 day free trial for Network Agenda an affiliate company. That offers an online date book service that will allow you to keep track of your daily schedule and will even send you reminders to your email and or cell phone. After the 21 day free trial the service is $9.95 a month membership fee. We offer these trial periods to give our clients a chance to use our service and see the value of them for themselves, before they are billed for them.

If you are another customer that is reading this and you have already
tried customer service for the Grant program, but feel that we have
failed you in some way or you feel you weren't treated fairly, please
call me directly at 435-773-1795 or email me at
customerservice@cshelp.org I will be happy to address your concerns ASAP.

Sincerely,

Online Customer Support
