I answered an Ad in the VA. Pilot Newspaper that stated they were looking for 50 men for a free weight loss program. Once I was in the office I met with Jessica McFarland the Area Manager. Mrs. McFarland explained that the weekly charges were going to be waived but that the program for twenty weeks would cost me $2,500.00.

I should have ran but did not as I relly do need to loose weight. The advertisement and Mrs. Mcfarland stated that I would not have to change my eating habits and I would still be able to eat at the same table with my family.

Mrs. McFarland then told me that I could make payments and verbally guaranteed that I would loose 70 pounds in twenty weeks just by taking their products. She also told me that I could make interest free payments to them for those twenty weeks. Mrs. McFarland was quite convincing and seemed very honest at the time.

Thus I signed where she said to sign without fully reading the contract. I even told her if this doesn't work that I would discontinue the program. She didn't say anything about that.

About a month later I recieved what appeared to be a solicitation for a GMIB/GEMoney Bank Card. I promptly cut it up and threw it away. I recieved another later and threw that away as well. Later I recieved a phone call from a GMIB representative stating that he was a collection agent and was calling about my GMIB account.

I was furious as my credit got screwed up in the past by my ex wife and I just now got it great again. The lady on the phone said I signed for the card. I told her that I did not sign for a credit card and that if they affected my credit in anyway then I would sue.

Well, That didn't seem to faize them at all. I tried the weight loss forever products for about two to three months and didn't loose a pound. Then Mrs. McFarland told me that I would have to diet. I told here that If I was to diet that I would not need to spend $2,500 on her program. I tried to cancel the program and that is when she told me it was non cancellable.

When I asked about the Credit, She said that when I signed up for the program that I signed a credit application with GMIB. I asked for the copies and sure enough hidden in the contract was a sheet for GMIB. Now my credit is ruined again.

Mrs. McFarland said that they had an agreement with GMIB that they never refund the money back to the credit company. I asked Mrs. McFarland to cancel the deal, Refund the money back to the Credit Card company and offered to pay for the product that I had used out of fairness. To date she has refused and my credit is screwed up because I did not know I signed up for a credit card.

Frankly, I am a pretty smart business man normally. I can afford to pay cash if I wanted to. I was just to busy and they took advantage of that. I noticed quiet a lot of folks in their store of a lot less moneatary means than me that were grumbling. I feel more sorry for those folks who really can not afford the program and whose credit gets screwed up by a dishonest sales manager. Hope you can help
