I went to a time share presentation just to get the free gifts my sife and I were told we would receive. We ate a lot or free candy bars and soft drinks. Two hours later we had signed up for a two bed-room loft. 35,000 dollars, ten years, 16 percent interest. I did not meet their elligibility requirements of having a minimun 50,000 dollars yearly income. They did not check anything. Well now my mistake has caught up with me. I have call welk resort representatives and offered to give my ownersihip back and we could be even. Sell this thing to some body else that can actually afford it. All they will tell me is you signed the dotted line. Now you must pay. Well I will not be making any more payments. From this day forward..I must cancel my credit card because welks won't stop the monthly charges.

Timeshare Companies are a SCAM
AUTHOR: TeresaSantos - ()
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 09, 2014
Most timeshare companies are taking advantage of people, often those who are more vulnerable and less able to resist hard sales tactics. I have heard of many cases where maintenance costs rise well above inflation. It would appear the timeshare companies lock people into contracts and then drive up their profits though increased maintenance charges. It would be good to see legislation whereby timeshare companies can only charge "reasonable" maintenance costs and not use this annual fee to fleece people's bank accounts. PS - I do not own a timeshare, never have and never will unless legislation is introduced to protect buyers.
