Ex-Rolls dealer to stand trial
August 18, 1989

Byline: The Register

A former Costa Mesa Rolls Royce dealer was ordered to stand trial Thursday on 16 counts of grand theft for allegedly defrauding dozens of customers who turned their luxury cars over to him to sell on consignment.
Harbor Municipal Court Judge Selim Franklin ordered Garry Concannon, 39, to stand trial. If convicted on all counts, Concannon faces up to 10 years in prison, said Costa Mesa police Detective Steve Labbitt, who investigated the case.

Concannon remains in Orange County Jail, where he has been since his arrest last month.

More than 12 people testified in the three-day preliminary hearing that Concannon took their cars, sold them and never paid them. Labbitt said Concannon obtained loans by using bogus vehicle titles and in several cases sold the vehicles even though they were being used as collateral for the loans.

Concannon's business, Concannon's Horseless Stables, is closed. He filed for bankruptcy with $2.4 million in debts and virtually no assets, federal bankruptcy officials said.

SO BUYER BEWARE!! HE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY! THE OTHERS THERE ARE NO BETTER!

I purchased two Rolls from Garry over a couple of years. Never did I have any issues with any repairs to be made at the time of purchase or getting a clear title. I was always treated with the utmost respect and I would gladly do business with him again. In my book he would be rated A+. I also have a client here that bought a Rolls from Garry and he also had no complaints of any kind.
