I reached out to Seth Chase looking to purchase a beginner safe trail mule.  He knew I was a beginner beginner.  I purchased an advertised mule that per Seth "Doesn't spook or run off.  He is a really good safe mule." I flew out to New Mexico to see the mule and ride him.  Upon arrival, Seth was not on the property.  I rode with his wife Courtney who I thought was honest.  Upon the purchase, I flew home and had the mule transported here.   I have made several attempts via email, calling and texting soon after purchase.  Seth never returned my attempts to reach him.  Initially, I was just wondering what bit they had used on the mule as he kept putting his tongue over every bit I tried.  Then, I had questions on loading him in my trailer.  He balked.. for me but with a stock trailer he was fine.   I have since purchased a stock trailer and things were getting better.  I took the mule on a trail ride and this is when things got interesting.  A water bottle spooked him and he bolted.  I was obviously not suspecting this!!  Not from hearing the mule was a good safe mule and doesn't spook or run off.  I just want people to be aware that once you purchase from Seth, do not expect him to return any form of communication.  On the internet there is an ad that reads: " Hi guys, this is Seth Chase, I do sell a lot of mules.  We ranch over here in eastern New Mexico, and use mainly mules.  I'm also a registered New Mexico outfitter and use these mules not only in the ranching/cattle business but our family hunting business as well.  We don't sell dinks or junk mules.  I have many references and satisfied buyers, we stand behind our mules 100%"  To see this statement, we stand behind our mules 100% is what finally made me write this ripoff report.  Please do not purchase a mule from him no matter what he tells you.  He is a con man and is only after the money, not the safety of the rider and he obviously does not care about the mule once it is sold.  Learn from my expensive mistake.
