this is mess up ! when i send money to the Philippines for example $100. when my mom picked up the money to the western union branch in the Philippines she get less than than the money i send. due to there's another charges which is not supposed to happen . i used different courier  to send money to my family like bank of America and RCBC  etc. what ever amount i send is the same amount my family received but not western union .

western union promise that what ever amount you send is the same amount you will received. but in my case is totally different and the worse thing is that its been more than 3years that my family received less than of what i send due to my family never told me about it and i didnt ask my family  due to before i send the money i ask if they will received same amount of money and they say yes!
i even told my mom to try another branch of western union and she told me she went to all branches of western union and the same thing , they'll charge you some extra service fee which is not supposed to happen.

try to call the western union customer service and ask about sending money is the same amount they will received and they'll say yes! no additional charges!

what a ripoff

sorry bout my grammar.

What currency did your mother receive the money in Philippines? Below is taken from Western Union website ToC at http://www.westernunion.com/WUCOMWEB/staticMid.do?method=load&pagename=tnc&countryCode=US&languageCode=en&pid=usFtTNC&method=load&nextSecurePage=Y

"CURRENCY EXCHANGE, INTERNATIONAL SERVICES: Payments will generally be in local currency (except that in certain countries payment may be in U.S. dollars or other alternate currency at participating locations). In addition to the Transfer Fees applicable to this transaction, a currency exchange rate will be applied. United States currency is converted to foreign currency at an exchange rate set by Western Union. Any difference between the rate given to You and the rate received by Western Union will be kept by Western Union (and its Agents in some cases) in addition to the Transfer Fees. Please ask the clerk for information concerning the currency exchange rate applicable to your transaction. The Transfer Fees and the money Western Union (or its Agents) makes when it changes your dollars into foreign currency may vary based upon the payout currency that you select. Some Western Union Agents may offer receivers the choice to receive funds in a currency different from the one you selected. In such instances, Western Union (or its Agents) may make additional money when it changes your funds into the currency selected by the Receiver. If you choose a payout currency different from the national currency of the country to which you are sending money, the payout currency you choose may not be available at all Western Union Agent locations in that country, or may not be available in small enough denominations to pay all of your money transfer. In such cases, the paying Agent may pay all or part of your transfer in the national currency."

If it is the local currency, there could be amount loss of the money you sent.

PS: I am not sure that your mother will get the exactly the same amount transferred via a bank. I am talking about in any country. When I transferred some money to my home country, the bank here charged me and the bank in my home country charged again. For example, a $100 transferred from here (and some extra for transfer fee in the U.S.) via a bank will end up as around $70 in my account in my home country. Therefore, I what you said about a bank would be better off is doubtful to me.
