I went to a 90 minute meeting a to view a timeshare to get cheap tickets. I kept on saying no I cant afford it and they kept giving me better deals etc and again I said no. I was with my 2 teenage children and they began working on my eldest who is only 19 and then she was pulled in by them and I am sorry to say I now have a timeshare I do not want did not know about the 10 day get out clause.
I am worried sick now as I cannot afford this and dont know what to do. I am from the uk had a great Holiday In Florida however this has really put me off ever going back to America. No offence to Americans but Im just disgusted at what has happened to me. If anyone can help me please do . I am a single mum and dont have the funds for this timeshare. I wish I was not so weak and told them where to go. Im even beginning to regret my holiday to florida that I had waited for years to go to and saved a long time for.

Timeshares have consistently been known for three things: beautiful properties, incredible destinations and FRIGHTENING sales practices. Nevertheless, the reason for owning a timeshare has never changed people simply want to spend quality time with their family and friends. Unfortunately, after being deceived by their developer, the majority of timeshare and vacation ownership owners have forgotten why they purchased a timeshare in the first place. They find themselves scratching their heads trying to figure out how they wound up deep in debt and angry over the process that landed them there. I know a company called Mexican Timeshare Solutions that can give you a free consultation on your matter, this is their website:

Stopping paying

Hi,
I was lied to when I signed on back in 2001, soonI realised what I had not been told, but tried 1 day too late to cancel.
I decided to pay off the mortgage to be safe. I paid the maintenance for a few yrs but decided to stop 6 yrs ago, but I owe 3 yrs worth as Im an odd yr owner. I would like to know for you in the UK, what has happened to you.
I moved from the States and Wgate lost track of me. Recently I was contacted by a bogus buyer from an ad online which has been running 6 yrs. It made me contact Wgate to see what was owed. Now I have collections on my case. I have done research and I understand they can foreclose (great there), but they can also sue you with a deficiency judgment for the money that is owed along with all the interest. This will not affect our credit ratings overseas, but they can still sue us in our own countries if they know where you are. Collections advises that Wgate doesnt want to foreclose, but they will be patient. Im not sure what their outcome intended is.... so Im wanting to know what has happened to others that have stopped paying.
In the case of them not being able to contact you any more, I would imagine that when you next enter the States there would be trouble if they have a court judgment out against you.
Again, I would really like to be more knowledgeable on what has happened to others that have stopped paying.

If you quit paying on it, it will go on your credit report; however, since you live outside of the country our credit reports are irrelevant. I would just quit paying on it if you still have it.
