I got my card with Express store in Dec 2006. After having some problems with them and receiving $10 "GIFT" card for my birthday, but my account being charged with those $10 as some fee, can't remember no more what they called that fee (something like maintenance fee or something), i decided to close my account.

September 2008, i was shopping and was convinced again by sales representative to open a credit card again with them. So i re-opened my account and paid for some things with it. I never received any statement, but after a while i received a call from Express saying that i have past payment due and they urged me to pay over the phone with $10 fee so they would not file report it to credit bureau. I made my payment over the phone, since being very busy with work and my online banking was suspended at that time and my account was locked out so i couldn't pay it online and i live far from nearest Express store so i just made that $40 payment with $10 charge.

Later on i went to the store and made a full payment for my balance (as sales clerk told me), but apparently it wasn't full payment. I didn't receive my statement next month (didn't move for 2 years now) but month after that story goes over again. I receive statement with Late Fee of $20 for not paying my balance. I tried contacting them about that over that phone but its a hassle to reach them over the phone, and i tried to contact via email, but never got any emails while changing 2 different emails. I scheduled my payment the same day i received my statement, and few days later i finally reached them over the phone (still no answer on email).

After explaining my situation, i got told that since i made my payment i cannot be helped with that Late Fee no more. I was told, i should of call them and get that resolved before making payment. With my busy schedule and having a hard time reaching their customer service, i made that payment so i would not get another late fee charge. So putting all of this hassle having this credit card, and as well as reading some other reports for same bank, i think something needs to be done.
