Hello,

I would like to warn any prospective customers of WheresMyTutor.com. I know there are several valid warnings already on this site, but would like to share my own nightmare with this company as well.

I know that you're probably thinking "Finally! I can earn a little extra cash doing something I love" when you saw this company's website.

Well, KEEP ON LOOKING. This website promises great things, but will result in NO WORK, terse responses, the classic run-around, and no refund.

In short, I was a member for 3 months (1 month as a regular member, 2 months as a "premiere" member [supposed to result in even more job offers]) and received absolutely NO work inquiries and nothing but the run-around when I confronted Justin Ketcham about the complete lack of results.

When I asked him to review my profile for any possible reasons why I was not receiving offers, he himself could not find anything wrong with my profile. He suggested I change my zip code to help the search tool (though no other zipcode within 30 miles would have solved the issue). Additionally, I was not simply tutoring one subject; I offered tutoring for a wide variety of subjects at the high school, college, and k-8 levels (over 30 total), so it cannot be said that my range of topics was too narrow.

However, three sad months later and look! Still nothing.

In an attempt to correct this error (and thus have the problem resolved, with no party being worse for the wear), I contact Justin to request a refund (based on the fact that NO WORK or even inquiries resulted from my association to his website), I received this response:

"Sorry, we don’t offer refunds as there’s nothing wrong with the services we provide.  Thousands of tutors/parents/students connect every month viaWheresMyTutor"

Well, that doesn't exactly sound professional; it sounds more like a petulant scam artist who likes to claim grand feats but in reality whose services amount to nothing.

My main question to his response is, "What services??" His business promises to connect parents seeking tutoring for their children to able tutors (that is the service to which he refers); however, I have received no such service! NOTHING at all resulted from this scam except that I am now $20 poorer and no closer to having any tutoring jobs than I was before (not to mention the lost time put into a profile that no one probably ever saw).

My advice to you is to run, and run fast from this website. It's a shame that he seeks to profit from well-intentioned people, but I suppose there will always be such business-owners.
