I am writing today to bring to your attention the ongoing situation regarding our acrylic enclosed Lanai that was installed by White Aluminium in April 2006.
White aluminium used a product made by Custom windows of Ocala.

The defects in the workmanship of White Aluminum and Custom window systems from the first day of the installation have caused us nothing but disappointment.

It is evident after months ( 2 years) of attempting to correct the problem, including having to remove and replace the door that was installed because it was leaking. (We replaced the door) plus at least 4 or 5 visits from White Alumnium, faulty installation and materials are causing the problems that we are incurring.

After 2 years of dealing with ALL the problems it is time for WA and Custom windows of Ocala to stop putting band-aids on the problems. We are looking to WA and Custom windows to finally remedy this situation.

The most recent: I contacted the WA office in Leesburg on Friday March 21st; they referred me to CWS in Ocala. I contacted them. They sent a representative to look at the problem, which they say should not have occurred.

When the represenative of CWS and White Aluminium arrived he said all they could do was adjust the windows, that the speces where supposed to be there. When looking at the product in the showroom and in their brochures there is no gap.

We let them adjust the windows. When they did this it left larger gaps than before.

Today we wanted to wash the exterior of the windows. Upon atempting to remove the windows, which was very difficult, it reconfirmed that these windows do not fit properly in the tracks. The wndows ( vinyl) where all marked and scratched, from what appears to be caused by when the windows were cut they were scribed incorrectly.

A remedy to this situation would be to replace the windows with the correct size.

I don't knnow about Florida, you will have to check out state offices there. In Oregon we have a state office called the Construction Contractors Board. This office can investigate and levy sanctions for this type of work. There are time limits, so I urge you to 'get crackin' ".

Along with this, there is the Better Business Bureau. I often see on Ripoff Report people compalin that BBB 'didn't do anything'. The BBB is NOT an enforcement agency, but work to resolve problems. I have used them a couple of times with good results.

Then we have the courts. Small claims is good, but the dollar limit varieys from state to state. In Oregon, you can not go to the Construction Contractors Board if you have filed a law suit, so I suggest that first.
