White Horse RV sales in Williamstown, NJ have been less than truthful.  They have no interest in customer satisfaction after the sale. That is unless you buy a big dollar motor home.  Maybe

  Buyers Beware

We purchased a 2012 Jayco Travel Trailer in February 2013 from salesman Kevin Sullivan and were told the trailer was used once by a family that decided the trailer was too small. “The trailer is brand new, used once” was Kevin’s words.  The agreement was that everything is in working order but they refused to offer a warrantee of any kind. Certain items could not be tested or demonstrated at delivery time for example the refrigerator on propane, the trailer brakes, the roof and windows for leaks. The AC would run but how cold would it be in July was my question.  We wife and I went on our first trip to Florida in February and found a few surprises.

As soon as we arrived at our camp site in Florida we filled our water tank and found several water hoses leaking. The refrigerator wouldn’t work on propane while towing or even sitting for several days. The front window leaked when it rained and the black water tank was totally full rendering the toilet unusable. Upon our return White Horse RV agreed to “take care of us”. The leaks were fixed and the black water tank was serviced. I was told there was nothing wrong with the refrigerator and it worked fine when tested.  We made another trip in April and the refrigerator didn’t work again and the black water tank was still plugged. I left the trailer and the work order says the Propane Regulator was adjusted.

Yes another trip without a refrigerator.  This time I spent money on a fan ($50) to improve cooling and external thermometer ($39) so the temperature could be watched without opening the door.  I returned to White Horse RV for service and spoke again with the service manager Steve Yoroshko who agreed to test the burner after some heated discussion. If ever you want to be talked down to like you’re a 5 year old stop by and ask to see Steve. I left the trailer and a week later I was called and told a new burner was ordered and I could pick-up the trailer next week.  A week later I picked up the trailer and once again we made another trip and had the same problem.

Upon our return we stopped by and showed Steve the refrigerator was not working on propane. Steve claimed there was nothing wrong. He went on to tell me that’s the way the refrigerator worked and there was nothing he could do and gave me the phone number of Jayco. Jayco recommended I go to another dealer for service. During the conversation I learned that the trailer was registered to a Condo Corporation and not the one owner that used it once. I called Kevin and we discussed the problems and I was told he would investigate and get back to me. I’m still waiting for some kind of communications.

I contacted Norcold they recommended a dealer in the area. The first thing that was tested was the propane regulator. The pressure drops below the limit when any other propane appliance was used. This caused the refrigerator flame to drop. The regulator had to be replaced at my cost $194.00. Is this strike one on White Horse RV? The next item that was tested by a Norcold Dealer was the burner which turned out to be the original and also required replacing. Strike two? Buy the way White Horse RV was putting in warrantee claims to Norcold. It is still not clear if Norcold will pay twice for the same part to be replaced.

In the mean time I realized that the trailer had many more miles on it and I better check the wheel bearings before they give me trouble. Low and behold the brakes were worn down to the metal lining and I had to replace the shoes, magnets and drums at a cost of $300 for parts. I also found another window leaking and resealed it myself. Now I noticed the tires are wearing on the outside edges. This means that the camber is out and that there is no adjustment of camber. Unless the axle is replaced the tires will keep on wearing.  Now that it is July I need to charge the AC as it is not cooling the trailer.

If you are looking for a travel vehicle be large or small drive on by White Horse RV.

Customer bought & Signed AS IS

AUTHOR: White Horse Rv Center - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 09, 2013

While selling several hundred RV's annually, for over 40 years,  it's just impossible to please everyone all of the time, though many of our customers take the time to write us about their positive experience & what a pleasure we made it for them.

This particular customer seems to have a case of Buyers Remorse. When taking delivery, he was shown all systems functioning & signed a form stating such, as well as a form accepting that he was purchasing the trailer AS IS. Manufactuers warranty is only good to the original purchaser. Though offered ,he also declined the option of buying an extended warranty.

Despite the above information, especially buying it AS iS, with his call to our service department, we scheduled him in for a list of 7 items, none of which ever mentioned  brake or axle issues. Regarding the filled black tank ,HIS list stated that he used the waste tank, but it fills within 1 day. He also said that AFTER his trip, it was filled with solid waste. That's what  happens when you use the 9 gallon holding tank & don't allow the tank to accumulate liquids as well as solids so that the liquids break down the solids before dumping. As to testing the refrigerator, while in for service, we pulled an identical trailer alongside his & checked temperature of the heating coils with our heat gun, as well as checking inside refrig temps. Both were identical.  Freezer showed a reading of -20 degrees. We explained that it is a very small refrig & each time it opens, the cold air gets sucked out. Again, despite this, we called Jayco technical service as well as Norcold for technical advice. Based on their recommendations, we replaced the flame indicator.  In our effort to appease this customer, our completed Work Order totalled $790.75 to fix items that we were under absolutely no obligation to address in the first place, and yet he has the audacity to complain to Rip Off Report.

Many of his concerns were just not being familiar with the trailer & it's operations. As to the previous owner, he chose to register it  to his company for tax purposes. It was only used by he & his family alone. Also odd in that the first owner didn't have any of the issues or concerns that this second owner did. As I stated earlier, with over 500 RV customers a year, you are bound to get one once in a while that no matter how hard you try, you just can't please. We have enjoyed an excellent reputation for over 40 years in the RV business & will continue to strive to please every customer no matter how difficult some may be.
