This company claims to offer adventure white water trips in the late spring and summer on the Moose river. I know customers come from several hundred miles to enjoy an experience like this and all the company cares about is taking their money and not providing a quality trip. The Moose river this time of year is low water, and the section of the river that they do the trip on is NOT an adventure class white water.

It may be fun for families with very young children aged 2 to 10 but to offer this trip to adult men who have gone to a fair amount of expense to get to the Old Forge area to participate in a big water rafting trip is a joke. I urge potential customers to ask around, check what other rafting companies offer on other rivers, ( the Hudson River and the Black River) Do not give a deposit until you have shopped carefully.

"...but to offer this trip to adult men who have gone to a fair amount of expense to get to the Old Forge area to participate in a big water rafting trip is a joke.."

Are you saying they should discriminate against people because of their gender and age? What if there are adult men who want have gone to a fair amount of expense and want to go on the "family-friendly" rapids?

Since you are a "riverguide", perhaps you should actually read before you book....

Directly from their web site
-----------------
7. How big are the rapids at the moose river?
Rapids are rated from Class I (easiest) to Class V (most challenging). Class VI is considered to be not navigable without unreasonable risk of injury. Our trips on the Middle Moose offer family-friendly Class I, II and III rapids.

10. How do I decide which river to run?
For youth groups, families and first timers, we generally recommend beginning with a trip on the easier portion of the Lehigh River, the Salmon River, the middle Moose River or a summertime trip on the Hudson River. For a more challenging adventure, select a Springtime or Dam Release Lehigh River trip, a summertime Black River trip, or a Springtime Hudson River trip. For very challenging whitewater, choose the Black River in May or early June, or the Hudson River in April.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

And the ripoff is what?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

There are 6 classes of "whitewater,' 1 thru 6.

On their website, www.whitewaterchallengers.com, they state that the Moose River offers Class 1, 2, and 3 whitewater (depending on conditions.)

Class 1: Very small rough areas, requires no maneuvering. (Skill Level: None)
Class 2: Some rough water, maybe some rocks, small drops, might require maneuvering. (Skill Level: Basic Paddling Skill)
Class 3: Whitewater, medium waves, maybe a 3-5 ft drop, but not much considerable danger. May require significant maneuvering. (Skill Level: Experienced paddling skills)

Further, this statement is on their page for the Moose River: ""Bring the whole family for our fun-filled rafting trips on the Middle Moose River. Easy and moderate whitewater makes these outings an ideal Adirondack get-away! You'll be running the river in a raft, tube or funyak, whichever is best for the day's river level.""

Seems to me they're pretty forthcoming that the Moose River is suited for families and CHILDREN.

They offer rafting on OTHER rivers in the Adirondacks that may offer more of a challenge to experienced kayakers.

I don't see any ripoff here so what's your beef with them? Since you're in Old Forge it seems you're probably a disgruntled ex-employee.
