Wilco cable has a contract with the City of Philadelphia so that it is supposed to be the only cable company permitted to provide cable to residents living in low income housing.  So they have a monopoly on ripping people off.

1)They over charge for subpar services.

2)If you have a problem with your cable that needs to be repaired, they will not give you credit even if the fault is theirs. They scam their way out of giving credit by giving the wrong appointment times and then using the fact that an appointment had to be rescheduled as an excuse not to give credit for the service they did not provide.

When my cable was out for an entire month, Wilco would not give me credit.

This is where the scam comes in:  Wilco consistantly gave me the wrong appointment times when the technician would come out so that they could use that as an excuse to refuse credit.  If they told me someone would be out between before noon - the tech didn't come out until after 3pm.  If I was told between 1pm and 3pm, they would come at 10am.  After missing 1 appointment, I stayed home all day for each successive visit(6 in all) and they gave the wrong time for each appointment.  When they didn't get more reschedules that way, they called and left a message on my answering machine saying that a tech was trying to come out the next day.  When I didn't get back to them in time, they considered the message they left a scheduled appointment, and it had to be rescheduled since I wasn't home when they wanted to come out.  A 3rd time they said that the technician who was supposed to come out had a minor car accident and so wouldn't be coming out to the appointment, and it had to be rescheduled.

So, according to them there were 3 reschedules and this is reason for not giving credit for the service I didn't receive for an entire month!

Adding to this is that their customer service reps and dispatch are rude.  Especially Anne.

If you have to have cable and live in Philadelphia - DO NOT USE WILCO!!!  You would do better to work with a reputable company and get Dxxxxx (((REDACATED)))TV instead.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
