I understand the auction market is a high risk one where the Buyer has to beware. However, I am astonished that we can allow a company like Windsor Auction House to blatently misrepresent facts.  They target the mid level buyers with the hope to get something beautiful.

Their auctions are tailor made for you to buy cheap prints and Jewelry, buffed up by some nice frames for about 5-8 times ebay prices.

They will have signs that are generic - "estate sales" etc. So you will not be able to run checks as there will be no "Sothebys type signs) They will make you sign a complete waiver of rights. You will note that they will have "house bidders" They will have primarily - Salvadore Dali, Tarkay and Picasso prints - The market prices for these are $100 to 300$. Paul - the chief scammer, will start will 3X the regular starting price. You will see him drop prices in "desperation" . There will be a couple of "plants" typically older folks in the front or the back. Mostly the back row. (if you are bidding 5K don't you want to see the goods?) Paul will talk about COA's hand signed and how he sold all of these are 2X the prices. He will quote appraisers et all.

Their defense is primarily that you have signed your rights away and auctions houses do not accept returns. Yes, but auction houses are not supposed to mis-represent and cheat. I am surprised the government allows them to scam regular people like this. I just attended an auction where I lost 3000 due to misrepresentation and blatant untruths today.

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

1000s of satisfied clients

AUTHOR: Paul - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 10, 2014

As the auctioneer of Windsor, it is unfortunate that this client chose to air his grievance on a site such as this without contacting the auction company first.

I've been an auctioneer for 24 years with thousands satisfied clients nationwide.  In fact, I didn't know a site like this existed until one of these very clients pointed this websiteand review it to me.

Sir, if you bought a hand signed Dali at Windsor, then it is hand signed as stated.  At $3000, an authenticated Dali is in fact a well placed bid.  You did well on your price.

I normally don't respond to such slander, but being called a "chief scammer" stuck a nerve.  Of course, you won't find any negative comments about my character during my 24 year carrier anywhere on the internet.

I hope you give Windsor another chance to prove why, since 1999, they're one of the largest liquidation auction houses in the nations with thousands of satisfied clients.

Best,

Paul
