I have been a customer of Alltel/Windstream since about 1998. When Windstream took over in my area I thought it would be a good thing. Not much changed about our phone service. I do believe some changes were made to improve connections. The issue I am dealing with is repeated offers for broadband internet service when it is clearly not affordable for Windstream to make improvements to get it to me.

I've been offered this numerous times (at least 7) over the past few years and appointments scheduled. No service technician has ever kept an appointment and I was just left to wonder. Eventually, a sales person (in North Carolina) calls again and reschedules the appointment, only to have no one show. The calls have gotten more frequent and I also receive emailed offers and snail mail offers (just got one today).

What I have found out is Windstream does not want the expense of the additional fiber optic line for the side of the road on which I reside. I have resorted to requesting removal from their call list and was told may take 30 days. I am tired of getting this totally false offer for broadband internet, scheduling an appointment, only to have no technician call me or show up. The sales persons calling and offering this service insist that it is available to us, however this is not so.

Windstream does not seemed concerned when I call. And unfortunately, there is little competion in our area....they seem to be able to treat their customers anyway they want and nothing can be done. Is anyone else dealing with the same trash from this company?
