Made a reservation for 5 rooms on line for Wingate in Lexington, Va. Called back as soon as I recieved the email saying these rooms were NON CANCELLABLE. This is in tiny print when you make the reservation.
I have called the local Lexington, Va hotel, their 800 "customer service" number and was told that NO it cannot be cancelled or even changed to a higher but flexible rate.
This is OUTRAGEOUS!! There is NO reason this rate cannot be switched. I have been treated very rudely by all of Wingate/Wyndham employees that I have spoken to.
The local Lexington hotel clerk actually said "Maybe you didn't hear me, it can't be cancelled"
This should be ILLEGAL! I am now on the hook for $3300!! for all 5 rooms for 4 nights.
Again it's January and I'm trying to change an April May reservation.
