Winters Law Group in Boise, ID does not exist! This is is a timeshare resale ripoff using the professional identity of actual attorneys licensed to practice law in Idaho. The stolen identities are being used to perpetrate fraud by contacting would-be victims who are trying to sell their timeshares, and lying to the victims by telling them they have an interested buyer, but OF COURSE, the victim must pay a fee up front.

The scammers try to legitimize the fee by purporting to use "Winters Law Group" in Boise, ID.  The website, which today, the address is www.wintterslaw.com (formerly www.winters-lawgroup.com before it was shut down) lists a vacant suite in the Wells Fargo building in downtown Boise (ironically, 1 floor above the FBI) and use a VOIP on the local number purchased from an exchange in Bayview, ID.  208-561-0220 is a scam number.

The scammers also attempt to legitimize the transaction by encouraging the victim to look the attorney/agent up on the Idaho State Bar website, where they can do an active search for the attorney.(Duplicated with real estate agents, insurance agents, securities agents, etc. depending on the flavour du jour). Of course, the attorney's name showed up as an active member of the Idaho Bar, complete with address, phone number, email, and bar number. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!  Just because you can look someone up on a regulatory agency website as having a legitimate license does not mean they are a part of the scheme!! Contact the agency, contact the person and NEVER give money to someone who wants to buy your timeshare or "represent" a buyer. Offer to meet in person.

The Idaho State Bar Association is very aware of the situation and are  fiercely protecting the identities of the attorneys who had their professional identities stolen. This has also been reported to the Idaho Attorney General's office, the BBB, the FBI, the Boise Police Department, and the FTC.

Winters Law Group Fraud

AUTHOR: ODC - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, June 18, 2018

I am a reperesientitve of building that Winters Law Group has been using as their address in Boise.  They are indeed a fraud and do not occupy 877 West Main Suite 500.  We have been contacted by several people/companies looking for information on Winters Law Group (trying to verify if they are legitimate), financial institutions and attouneys of scammed clients. We have had their web site taken down several times by reportiing them to their web hosts.  I would like to know if there is an active investigation into these guys where I can forward any other victims.
