I want to report in what way the people in this franchise(Wireless Toys) make business.

My wife and I were shopping for a cellphone for our son. He likes G 1 and My touch 3G both made by HTC, but we didn't want to spend money on data plan which our son didn't want either. We went to the store located at 3755 Spring Mountain Rd. suite A-101. We made it very clear that we didn't want to sign new contract with T-Mobile and we are ready to pay more money to buy the phone our son wanted but we DON'T WANT data plan. They offered some and we made our choice My Touch 3G for $300.00 which made sense because the phone from T-Mobile would cost $149.00 plus $24.99 a month for data plan for two years. This way we paid more money in front but in a long term we saved money. What they DIDN'T tell us was that this phone DOESN'T work without data plan. The other thing is they didn't give us USB cable for recharging. After we called them and had to go back we got some cable that didn't work at all and the phone battery went dead. We liked the phone while it was working and we went to T-Mobile store and they said that this phone doesn't work without data plan. I called the store to tell them that I canno't recharge the battery and I was told that the cable probably was wrong which they knew since the beginnnig. my wifw went there and asked them if it is true that the phone doesn't work without data plan. They said it is true but ( I think the phone we bought belonged to some of their employes) that we didn't tell them what we were looking for which is a bold lie and they will take the phone back but will give back only 90% of our money. I don't care about $34  they can keep the money but these people should not be allowed to conduct bussines in this way. By the way their store on Eastern Av. and Silverado Ranch selles phones with $100.00 more than the store on Spring Mtn.They also changed our plan with T-Mobile and I did ask them if anything was changed with my plan and they said that everything is the same. We ended up paying $ 34.00 to people who lied to us, they didn't give us the proper equipment for the phone we bought and they complain we are the ones at fault.  At the end I have to call T-Mobile to change my service plan to what it used to be.

Sounds like this is completely, totally,and unquestionably your fault. You were trying to rip off the company by using their product with out the data plan.. which of course you need because the G1 is a google phone... meaning it is an internet phone... meaning you have to have a data plan to use it. I don't really believe you or your son didn't know that, besides that you did all this research to find out about the phone but didn't know it needed a data plan???? The company you bought the product from didn't do anything wrong and gave you exactly what you asked and paid for. Also there is noooo possible way they can change your plan with Tmobile without your consent... That's why My boyfriend who is not the PRIMARY account holder can't even find out how many minutes we have used on our T mobile account... it is in place for your protection.

It sounds like the problem you have is with T-mobile not the store, since T-mobile is the one forcing you sign-up and pay extra for their data service.  Verizon did that to me when i bought a samsung i760.  i figured that since it had wifi i could get the internet free on it using my wifi but they are charging me an extra $30 a month for their data service.  I can totally see why you are pissed but you should probably ripoffreport T-mobile since they are forcing you to buy something you don't want in order to use the phone you want to use.
