I purchased merchandise from an online shop, ( a legitimate one) and got a pop-up afterward which made itself look as if it were affiliated with that shop. It offered me a discount off of my next purchase from that shop by giving me a printable coupon for $15.00 cash back on my next purchase from the same merchant.

I printed out the discount coupons but never used them and still have them in my possession. One coupon is from Reservation rewards, the other is from Shopper discounts and Rewards. Niether of these coupons mentions anything about a membership fee; yet I was charged on my last statement, $10.00 for each of these merchants, for a total of $20.00.

When I called them to question these billings, I was told that at some point, I agreed to these terms of being billed $10.00 per month, but that they would cancel my "membership" immediately if I wanted them to; which I did. I informed the person on the phone that I have NO recollection of agreeing to any such thing, furthermore, twice.

I believe that this company is mis-representing itself on the internet. I would not purposely join such a club, and especially not two of them. If there is any type of notification to the consumer, it must be very well hidden. I especially would NOT give them my CC#. They must have gotten it from the merchant I purchased the merchandise from.
