When looking for furniture to update a rental property, my business partner went to Wolf's outlet in Hagerstown Maryland. Matt the salesman showed him a great armchair for the 4th floor balcony seating area of said property. It was explained that the purchase would be made if another matching chair could be located. MAtt located another chair at another store and said he would do a transfer from another location. Both chairs were charged on a visa. The first chair went with my business partner and his lovely wife while the other was supposed to be picked up a week later.

Two months goes by and repeated phone calls lead to a manager who state "your other chair was damaged in transit and if you want the chair you already paid for you would have to special order it from the factory and pay us an additional $400 for the chair. It was put very bluntly that they owed us the chair and the chair was already paid for. It was up to them to honor the contract or we would seek remedy in other directions. The manager agreed to get the chair. A week later we were called to pick it up. We picked it up. One hour and forty five minutes at deep creek lake the chair was unwrapped and there was obvious shipping damage, exactly as had been described by the manager in regards to the chair unfit to sell us. We took picture in front of 3 witnesses to the damage and I contacted the corporate office in PA speaking to the head of customer service who's name was also Matt. He was sorry for the mix up and said they would go to the rental property, pick up the old chair and deliver the new on for free as they have trucks at Deep Creek Lake Mondays and Wednesdays. He said the office would call my business partner to schedule for the real estate company who managed said property to meet the driver to let him in.

The next day a woman from Wolf in Hagerstown calls and argues that we had to drive the 2.5 hours from our homes pick up the defective chair, do an exchange and drive 2.5 hours back up to drop off this correct chair for a total of 10 hours drive time for their screw up.

I called Matt at corporate, he said it was a misunderstanding and that he would tell her so. The next call we get is a week or so later explaining the chair was discontinued and they couldn't get a matching chair. We asked for two other similar matching chairs as we had ordered a matching set and Matt said no. He explained we would have to pay the difference for the cost of the chairs to the next comparable after 2.5 months of bullshit from them. I said that was a poor example of how a company should run and requested that they pick up both chairs as they hadn't fulfilled their end of the contract, and credit the card back right away. He said no problem. The scheduler would call to set up a time to retrieve the botched order for both chairs and we would part ways. Matt has sense wasted two weeks with no money and no date to pick up the chairs. He says "I'll see what I can do". He says this after agreeing to pick up the old chairs and credit back the money and being a authorized agent of Wolf's Furniture, did enter into a verbal agreement. This has Washington County District Court, Small Tort Civil Action written all over it. The store General Manager Tom Jones won't even take calls in regards to this matter.

If you want to get fu**ed, go to Wolf's Furniture in MD or Pa. Just ask for Tom Jones In Hagerstown. He won't even use lube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steer clear of these con-men. We now have to take legal action against them and take time away from both of our business to deal with these crooks. The store manager below Tom Jones working Sunday November 6th would not even come to the phone nor return the phone call even when she was warned about the impending Rip OFF report going online without resolution.

Good company, questionable employee

AUTHOR: MST - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 06, 2012

I have had very good experiences with Wolf Furniture. Their stores are gorgeous, the sales staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable, and hard working, and the products are beautiful and high quality. The only negative experience I have had has been with Mr. Tom Jones. In these brief encounters his tone and general attitude are highly negative, extremely condescending and, to say the least, heavy-handed.

It is unfortunate that a company of whom I have/had such a high opinion continues to employ an individual of such unprofessional, discourteous, and irritating demeanor. Perhaps he brings some other good qualities to the table, but in my experience and opinion, his being there is a blotch on the Wolf reputation.

Tom Jones decides not to f**k us

POSTED: Monday, November 07, 2011

Within hours of the Rip Off report being filed, Tom Jones "formally identified as the guy who wanted to f**k us with no lube" has issued a full refund as we had requested. I am glad wolf furniture decided to honor their word and legal obligations to consumers in the state of Maryland. Thank you for not f**king me Tom Jones.

Within one hour of filing the Rip Off report and forwarding a copy to Wolf Furniture we received a call. It was the salesman Matt offering to put the damaged chair cost, back on the card right away and promised to talk to some other guy Monday morning to credit the other half of the purchase for the non-damaged chair which can no longer be used due to not having a matching pair for that room. Matt said he spoke to "Tom Jones" the guy previously mentioned as wanting to f**k you without lube. It looks like Wolf is now paying this the attention it deserved weeks ago.  I will update with each new development from this company.
