Woodchop Hardwood Floors Dylan Coulson Thief left with deposit and never returned Gibsons British Columbia

Dylan got a deposit from us and did our Hardwood floors and worked hard sanding and floating the finish. The floors looked fine and we were pleased. When we were presented with the invoice we paid in full. We told him we were going to replace our deck boards and he said we could replace the bad boards and resurface the others. We said we would call him when we were ready. He left our area and went to Alberta from what we know. Dylan returned to BC and we saw his ad and called him. 

Dylan came to our house and gave us an estimate for time and materials to start our job. He asked us for a $3000 deposit to buy materials to get started.I HAVE HIS SIGNATURE ON THE ESTIMATE THAT WE PAID HIM A $3000 advance. As we had dealt with him on the previous job we gave it to him. He brought his commercial sander in the next day and the following day he brought 2 workers and got them started. They had no idea what they were doing and as I was not around Dylan told them he found a crack in the roller of his commercial sander and had them load it in their truck to be transferred to Vancouver for repair.

When I returned from work and saw no sander or equipment and the 2 workers getting ready to leave I found out that they had just met Dylan and he hired them because they had a truck. I tried to find Dylan but he would not answer his phone. As it was not their fault I paid them the $350 even though the framing they did was terrible and we had to tear it out. When I did find Dylan he told me his floor sanding machine had to go to Vancouver for repair. 

I knew this was BS and started to track down him and his machine which probably was worth $5-8 thousand dollars. I found where he was living in Gibsons but he had just moved and left. I found this site and found the same story that others were ripped off by him. I tracked him to near Toronto Ontario and found that he had gone to Northern Toronto for his mothers birthday.  I got him on the phone a few times and he swore he was returning to do our job. As I knew his father was in the same business I called him and he told me, Dylan was going to work for him starting in a couple of days. Between Dylan and his father, we made an agreement that we would be paid off once he got working. of course, he screwed up the job with his father in no time.

I still was leery of Dylan and I tracked down the company that was moving his sander to Ontario. Their truck had broken in Winnipeg Manitoba but unfortunately, I missed the driver, I explained the story and I was going to pay them to put the machine in a locker and give me the key but I missed the broken truck and the transfer of the machine to Dylan. 

I found him off and on and I kept the messages on our answering machine that he would never steal from us and would send us the money, darn postal service is slow.

Dylan, you stole our money!! You put on here the other reports were fake, I tend to believe them and not you! Give me a call and we will meet and you can return our money or call me a liar and we can sort it out then and there. I have a feeling I will be waiting a long time, Dylan moved back to BC and was in the HANEY MISSION AREA, I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I FIND HIM!!   RJ
