This company is knowingly selling after market Back2Life massagers. They manipulate the consumer by advertsing the Back2Life with the Genuine Infomercial material on their website, which is a copyrite violation. They lure/trick the consumer into buying the Back2Life through them by advertising it as the best price on the internet for $174.99. What they neglect to inform you is that these Back2Life massagers are not authentic. I purchased one of these "authentic" Back2Life massagers from this company. Yes, the box says Back2Life & it looks authentic, but when you try to assemble it, the top part of the base will not properly attach to the body of the machine. I called the company and spoke with "Sean" who I am only assuming is the owner becasue he is the only one I have ever spoken to during my four seperate phone calls. He did NOT sound suprised at all about my problem, which SHOULD have raised a red flag for me... So, the top would not connect, then my husband plugged it in only to witness the thing go up in smoke! After speaking with "Sean" I was 1st instructed to take/send pictures to verify the damage.
He specifically told me to throw this machine out and he would send me a new one...fair enough...or so I thought. The second machine arrived with essential parts missing. I called WORKOUT CENTER immediately and again spoke with Sean. He told me I would have to send the machine back AT MY COST TO CANADA. I was also instructed not use UPS so they avoid the surcharge when a package enters Canada. I was also told that the price of the shipping for the 2 DEFECTIVE MACHINES WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM MY REFUND...So, Just to recap, I paid $174.99 for a defective piece of junk. I had to pay $27.00 to send this worhtless piece of plastic back to Canada at my cost. When WORKOUT CENTER gets the junk back, they are going to deduct God knows how much from my $174.99 for the cost of shipping the After Market product to me in the first place! I also did some research and found out that they altered their return policy/instructions specifically for the Back2Life machines...I guess they were getting WAY TOO MANY COMPLAINTS & RETURNS~They specifically changed their policy from a 30 day returen policy to a 15 day policy...JUST FOR THIS ITEM. I guess they know that if by chance ONE of these Back2Life massagers actually assemble then work for someone, it won't last more than 15 days and then they are FREE from any responsibilty~
Bottom Line is: I WAS RIPPED OFF~I WAS TRICKED INTO BUYING THIS BACK2LIFE BASED ON FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, THEN WHEN THE PRODUCT RECEIVED WAS A DUD, THEY WANT/EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR SHIPPING IT TO & FROM CANADA~
I don't wat this to happen to anyone else...AVOID BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY~OR YOU WILL SURELY GET RIPPED OFF!

#3 Consumer Comment
Workout Center has been marketing and selling counterfeit Back2Life products
AUTHOR: Back In Five, LLC \ GetBack2Life.co - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, December 30, 2010
Back in Five, LLC is the exclusive rights holder of the
well-known Back2Life Therapeutic Massager that has been extensively advertised
on television, the web and other marketing channels. Back in Five, LLC is the
exclusive licensee of all patents associated with this product. It also owns
the trademark to the name Back2Life, owns the trade dress design to the color
and shape of the product and owns the copyrights to its television commercial
and to all printed material that are included in the product packaging. In order
to maintain the integrity of the Back2Life product and protect our brand we
limit our channels of distribution and the method by which consumers can obtain
a Back2Life. The only way to legitimately obtain a Back2Life is to purchase
them through Back In Five, LLC via our infomercial, our web site
(www.getback2life.com ) or our licensees who have the right to sell the
Back2Lifevia certain reputable retail channels of distribution.
A search of our records reveals that The Workout Center has never been an authorized distributor or licensee of the genuine Back2Life Product. It has recently come to our attention that Workout Center has been marketing and selling counterfeit Back2Life products via their websites (www.workoutcenter.ca , www.getback2life.ca , www.getback2life.co , www.back2life.co and www.abcoasterdirect.com ) as the genuine Back2Life product, although Workout Center is not and never has been an authorized seller of the Back2Life. And while they have ceased selling the product via www.workoutcenter.ca in response to a cease and desist letter from us they continue to market the product on their other sites and to use our Back2life trademark in violation of cybersquatting laws.
The Workout Center is, in violation of U.S. Canadian and International Law by improperly using our patents, our trademarks, our trade dress and our copyrights. The Workout Center is utilizing false and deceptive marketing tactics deliberately designed to confuse the consumer into thinking that they are purchasing the genuine Back2Life Product. This not only damages our good will and image, but more importantly is deceiving and damaging the public and may even put them at risk for injury.
Sadly, Back In Five, LLC has received numerous complaints from customers who are confused by and have purchased Back2Life look-a-likes and have been very dissatisfied with the quality. Back In Five, LLC continuously and aggressively pursues the factories, distributors and sellers of these unauthorized copies, to the fullest extent under the law. We are in the process of preparing to do the same with the Workout Center.
If you have purchased one of these counterfeit items from Workout Center from any of its websites, we strongly suggest those affected file a complaint with the sellers of these unauthorized Back2Life machines as well as your credit card company and obtain a refund. If you have any questions regarding this rebuttal, please contact our customer service center at 1-866-446-6352 or e-mail us via our website at www.getback2life.com . Desperate retalitory rebuttal from WORKOUT CENTER CANANDA.COM
AUTHOR: Michele - (U.S.A.)

The most important aspect that the owner of this company (Sean)is neglecting to reveal in his very detailed and slanderous rebuttal regarding my compaint is that I was instructed to throw out the defective/uselesscomponents. Thisexplains why the shipment thatI PAID to send back weighed less. This is a feable attempt to manipulate the fact that I was sent not ONE, but TWO knockoff/defective machines from his company: WORKOUTCENTER.COM CANADA. that was clearly advertised as authentic.
I would just like to emphasize that I was specifically instructed to disgard certain components per Sean during our phone conversations and the fact that the return shipment's weight is his sole argument for calling me a theif, demonstrateshis pre-meditated plan to use this factor to pursue payment for his faulty merchandise.
I WAS RIPPED OFF & NOW YOU ARE RETALIATING BY CALLING ME A SCAMMER & A THEIF BECAUSE YOU DID NOT SUCCEED IN YOUR QUEST!
This is now and has always been a matter of principle.

We sell a fair number of machines, this being said: Statistically speaking: Problems happen. Which is why I know that if I sell 1000 of something, atleast 15-20 problem machines will happen. We buy in wholesale and sell as brand new products, we do not open the boxes to individually check the contents. If we did, we would have to add that overhead to the price, we know the problems are infrequent enough that its cheaper to simply sell brand new products uninspected and simply replace affected components at our expense when problems do happen. Again, its statistically rare enough that we can afford to do it at our expense.
As a warranty policy, we ship out only the affected/defective parts of an order (although we don't expect anyone to need any technical knowledge to do any warranty service). For example, if a power adapter if not working right, we ship out a replacement power adapter, not a whole brand new order. If a machine is not functioning, we ship out a replacement machine, not machine+power adapter+dvd+guide. We do NOT require customers to ship the damaged equipment back unless the damage is superficial and easily remedied and a cash settlement is not mutually agreeable. The $27 expense she incurred was not for in-warranty service.
Ms. Castillo order was for $174.99 on Oct 17, 2010 7:23:56 PM. Shipped via UPS (1Z6F4Y40684108XXXX) the day after the order was received. At this time, we shipped a complete Back2Life order: 1 Base Machine, 1 Leg Support, 2 Feet, 1 Documentation Package, 1 Firmapedic Pillow & 1 Power Adapter [total weight 17 lbs, dimensions 20x16x13]. She called on Oct 27, 2010 to complain about a machine that didn't work well within the 6 month warranty period. We shipped via UPS (1Z6F4Y40684245XXXX): 1 Base Machine, 1 Leg Support, 2 Feet [10 pound shipment, dimensions 19x12x10]. The leg support was not needed but we thought it'd just be nice if she didn't have to fight with the old one trying to get it off (they're not designed to come on and off repeatedly). Everything except a power adapter. (the reason we don't just ship replacement orders is to conserve parts as 1 reason, but also more importantly to avoid those that try to scam us into getting a free 2nd order because its hard to prove that a machine isn't working without shipping it back so we generally have to take people's word for it).
She then calls to complain that it yet again doesn't work, but when we send replacements we definitely have the time and opportunity to test it prior to shipping. We inspect the goods (and actually put power and pressure upon) well because we understand the customer has already gone through a lot and it would be unforgivable to have it happen a 2nd time. Ms. Castillo immediately demanded a refund, we agree. For refunds we require the machine itself be shipped back. Not the pillow or the giant 20x16x13 double-walled box [17 pounds actual weight, 27 pounds billable weight] it originally shipped in. We just want the small inside box (10 pounds with the machine inside it. We want the machine itself. We don't mean to be difficult about it, we just want the valuable part of the order back if we're going to be reversing a transaction as per our return policy: http://www.back2life.co/return-policy. We would have yet again tested and sent another machine, but she wanted a refund.
She shipped the article back via USPS as requested (well, USPS or FEDEX, just not UPS). She emailed us one evening while I was at home about 2 days prior to it actually coming back; insisting it was already at the store and where is her refund. Without thoroughly investigating the matter we just processed the refund. The amount was $144.99 because as per the return policy the buyer is responsible for shipping it back and the original shipping cost. Most online stores say that on refunds its "less S&H" but we don't charge S&H so we have to have a mechanism for recovering the S&H. The next day I went to the store, her box was not there. 2 Days after the refund, her box arrives at the store.
SHE DID NOT SEND BACK THE MACHINE AND WE HAD ALREADY DONE A REFUND.

That is a photograph of the important parts of the USPS label for her shipment.
What she had sent back was: 1 Leg Support, 2 Feet. So she essentially still has in her possession a gross total of: 2 Base Machine, 1 Leg Support, 2 Feet, 1 Documentation Package, 1 Power Adapter. She has in her possession enough for 1 complete order and 1 complete working machine. She sent back only the extra parts we had sent her as a courtesy. To this date, we did not bother doing anything about the recovery of the $144.99 she unfairly took from us. We are now going to definitely pursue this matter after seeing she had the audacity to write this report. As a business, we document everything very well.
Please take note, on that USPS label, the total weight of the shipment is 4 pounds 15 ounces. Not even half the actual weight of any of the 2 UPS shipments we sent to her. She is the thief and we were nice enough to not pursue her; and also because wasting time on her just isn't in our schedules, but to uphold our reputation we will definitely spend the time and money (this is why we do warranty so easily, we work really hard to make our customers happy and to see something like this is really disheartening).
