Your story sounds eerily similar to mine. Please read the post from 7/28/07. Our presentation was at a Holiday Inn Express in Clermont, FL. We disputed the charge through our credit card company and after their investigation; the company stated that although they feel for us, it basically comes down to a he said, she said thing. So we have never used the service and are out $2500+.
I believe the lady you are referring to is Janae Tew. I talked with her numerous times, asking for a refund each time, but she refused. She then offered us a free stay at a Florida beach to make up for the treatment I was receiving in regards to their reservation line. At first I was constantly put on hold and/or never had calls returned.
In fact, just seeing your letter made me log onto their website tonight for the first time in a month and heres the message I received:
Source: System Message: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server. (Bottom Line: I cant even get on their website)
You are exactly right when you made this statement: This is a scam, there is no access to any premiere 5 star hotels, just the run of the mill stuff, the airfares to Africa were cheaper on Expedia, and the cruises were not any cheaper than any other website.
Have you checked out their REWARDS section? Since I cant access their website, I dont know if they still have Restaurant.com. This is a website anyone can access. You dont need special membership privileges.
How these people go to bed at night with a clear conscience is beyond me.
Please keep me and others updated on any possible legal proceedings.
