Despite all of the sleazy sales tactics we encountered, we did buy the Kia that we wanted from World Car Kia on IH 35 south in San Antonio.


When we returned the following day to "finalize" the deal (and find out that they LIED about the payment amount we would be making and jacked it up $100) we bought the car anyway.  Well, they took the car to "make-ready" while we were inside and when we got in the car to leave, we realized that EVERYTHING OF VALUE HAD BEEN STOLEN FROM INSIDE THE CAR.  They were kissing our butts when they took it and NEVER warned us about valuables in the car.


So, when we went back in to file a complaint, we were hushed into the "general manager's" office, where he as much as accused us of LYING about what was stolen.  He said that there were signs in the back (where we never went!) warning to not leave valuables and that this had NEVER happened before.    


We have launched a campaign to recommend anyone but them for auto purchases, and will have to take them to small claims court to be made whole.  THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE!!

I couldn't have said it better than Jim did, so I won't try.

But it still begs the question: WHY, after all the indications appeared that you were going to be on the wrong end of a transaction, did you go on with it?

Lets take a look at the two statements YOU made which says it all...

"...despite all of the sleazy sales tactics...we did buy..."

"...they lied about the payment...we bought the car anyway."

 

Do you think so little of yourself you need to REWARD them for treating you like s---?

What on earth possesses you to accept this kind of treatment and then give them the money they want and then act so surprised they wouldn't listen to your complaint?

Here's my campaign, its very, very simple.  We be responsible, informed consumers.  We all fully understand the dynamics of the buying experience in that, the car dealer NEEDS US and WE DON'T NEED THEM!!!  At the FIRST sign of fraud/deception, we WALK OUT...we don't sit there groveling, hat in hand, leading with our chin to accept whatever crumb they throw our way.  Come on now, I assume your are chronologically an adult!  If you would have done this, you wouldn't have had this experience!  What exactly do you expect anybody to do now?  The Sleazy American Car Business is what it is.  Our defense is to not accept this crap.  The perpetrators of fraud know full well, the average person will just simply fold and accept any garbage they throw our way.  Should it be this way?  Of course not!  But it is and our defense is to be responsible consumers without one second of hesitancy to accept their crap.
