This dealer places ads on websites attempting to hire sales reps under the false pretense that they offer salary of $800 weekly plus commission. When I showed up to the demo / interview they kept beating around the bush when it came to questions asked by the class in regards to salary attempting to pull your attention elsewhere. The following day went to the class and my suspitions were confirmed when I found out the Salary is virtualy non existent as you are required to produce 2 sales per week minimum for 800 or go strictly commision and get payed more than twice as much.

Also, the entire class was told there is no money involved to start, but the first day of training they wanted a $450 deposit for the water testing kit you will need to demo to customers! I can spend all day typing exactly what they say and do but in a nutshell this is a 1099 position they try to pass off by telling you that you are an employee and are REQUIRED to show up to office, trainings, at specific times etc.

NOT TRUE as most people know that the court will go by how you are treated in the event of a lawsuit, so if they claim you are 1099 but treat you as W2 then the courts will rule in your favor if pay is disputed. Potential Sales Reps be warned, this is a dealer for RainSoft, not Rainsoft themselves. They also claim to be Home Depot Reps, which is a complete lie, they also issue Home Depot badges to mislead customers. Wasted my time with these people, sadly these misleading tactics to recruit fresh reps is becoming more the norm within dealers. Considered yourselves warned, good luck!

Misconceptions with review

AUTHOR: KatieR - (United States)

I'm not sure if you have done sales before, but that is your typical sales job, commission or a possible option he be on a salary with a required min. Sales companies won't continue to pay someone a salary if they aren't going to produce. I worked for the company and although they have some organization to woke on I did make a lot of money. A couple of the sales managers were not very good, but I guess that is also why they didn't last. Now the Kennesaw office has a regional trainer from Rainsoft itself and reaching the right way. I get where someone may he upset, but technically they aren't actually asking for money. The $450 isn't charged to you unless you somt return the iPad and testing kit which makes perfect sense why should a business have to pay for someone not returning something that is only borrowed. Return it and you aren't charge for the products you technically stole. Seems pretty legit. The weekly meetings and training are actually for the benefit of the rep because hello you probably aren't a pro water analyst sales rep and there are always things you can learn to increase your potential. It's hard to be a w2 and work the flexible hours you do. A 1099 makes their own schedule which you do. You gives days and times available and run those leads. And I'm not sure where you get that the Home Depot badges are to mislead people.

That is very incorrect, it's actually Home Depot themselves that REQUIRE anyone that works for the company to have one. Since the company also does financing through home depot as well and they are a vendor. Home Depot is paid a percentage of every lead generated from them whether it be a bottle drop, survey etc. So you have to wear those badges, the background check done at time of hire is also done by Home Depot. So before posting a review form an obvious pissed off employee you really should get your information correct. I'm sure anyone that has worked here will have things they didn't like or shouldn't have been done a certain way. The fact is every company will have it's own issues, so unless you are a business owner and do stuff your own way, you just deal with it or go find something else that suits you better.

For me I made a lot of money, although it sucks driving your own car since you are "1099" you do get to write off ALOT more, I never even took out taxes and still would get money back. So don't bad mouth a company when it is obvious you don't even have all the facts when you were under the impression they aren't connected with Home Depot and the badges are made up, and the fact that you had to pay money but were told you didn't have to when in reality everyone does a deposit and as long as you aren't a thief your money will not be processed to make up for lost merchandise. On a note to potential sales reps, I enjoyed working here, they did have more issues with territory, leads, etc. Territories are thought about in the areas you want to work, they will place surveyors in those Home Depot stores to get business in selected areas, as for being in sales for years I understand that there will be times of a crappy round of leads you just can't get discouraged, because there is still a number of demos to get done before worrying you aren't doing well, and one on one training opportunities are available when you seem to be struggling.
