I was looking for an Akita puppy through puppyfind.com and I emailed a breeder that had a puppy listed for $300. He put me in touch with a rev. peter maxwell who had been sent to africa and needed to find a new home for his 12 week old Akita for just the cost of shipping. He was thrilled to have found a good home for his "baby" and told me to money gram the money to his shipping agent and the puppy would be sent as soon as the payment was confirmed. then world pet delivery contacted me and said that all the papers were in order except the shipping insurance. the puppy was all set to ship but they couldnt put her on the plane till I paid $560 for pet insurance. I became skeptical. The "Rev" kept calling anxious that the puppy get shipped why was I more conserned about the money instead of concerned about the puppy. I said I needed to check it out more but my internet was down and I couldnt get online so I wanted to call the breeder I was first in touch with, could I have his number as his number was not listed online just email address. He said he only had email address also. after three hours of deliberation, I finally just sent the money. bad idea. world pet delivery confirmed the receipt of the $560 and said she would be placed on a plane that night and I could expect her to be delivered by 8am the next morning. the next morning I checked my email and they said she had broken her crate and contacted the rev. and he paid 200 for a new one. before they took off she broke the second wooden crate and they couldnt get hold of the rev. so they needed me to send 300 for a metal crate before they could ship her. I replyed send the puppy Ill pay for the new crate when I get her or refund my money. End of scam.

POSTED: Saturday, December 04, 2010

this one to you have to watch for , if kris benny tells you he has a couple of pups for sale dont go for the scam , he is telling every one that he had to move to Cailf. and needs to sell his two pups Maxwell and Lindsay , he will take 250.00 each , well if you send money he wants you to send it to cameroom or douala which is over seas , then the money goes there then you get a email that the shipping is 1200.00 which you will get back after the pups get to your door . then they just keep 50.00 for food and water , dont fall for kris benny scam . his email address is krisbenny98@yahoo.com  look that up and find out he is a scammer on english bulldogs

Tips.

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 09, 2010

There never was a puppy, nor a reverend or a pet shipping company.   It was just a scam to get you to send money to the scammer.

In the future, anytime Nigeria comes up in a transaction, you can be sure it's a scam.   Scamming people on the Internet is one of Nigerias top industries.

Also, when someone you don't know insists that you send money via Western Union or Moneygram, you are likely being scammed.    This is the only way scammers can get their hands on your cash without leaving a paper trail.   Legitimate businesses don't insist on untraceable transfers.

Question

AUTHOR: Susan - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 09, 2010

Are there no Akita Breeders in Oregon or the US?  Depending on how they had you pay them, you might get some help there.

For future reference, before buying an animal from another country, check the laws. Visit cdc . gov (without the spaces of course) Click on A, scroll down to Animal Importation and educate yourself.
