Worldwide Readers Service, Inc. & Towana Williams Door to Door Magazine Sales Scam Miami Florida

On the evening of December 11, 2007, My husband answered the door to two black women, in their mid-to-late twenties, selling magazines door to door. One of the women introduced herself as Towana Williams, and said they were selling magazines to raise funds for educational purposes.

My husband looked through their selections, choose a magazine and wrote out a check for $46.00. That was to cover 24 issues for $36.00 and handling of $10.00. The first issue was to be received within 120 days.

It is now well over six months and still no magazine. We are unable to reach anyone through the phone numbers, and no reply to the letter sent to the address.

The order form is official looking and in duplicate. The women well dressed and well-mannered. The check was not cashed immediately, or in person.
